Jock MKT is fun new way to play DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite NBA buy for tonight’s slate.
What Is Jock MKT?
The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for the night.

3/16/22 Top Buy
Evan Mobley, C, Cleveland Cavaliers
Highest Potential Bid: $5.00
Break-Even Point: 34th
If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Mobley recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $5.00 per share for him. He needs to finish 34th in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.
For example, if I buy 1 share of Mobley at $5.00 and he finishes 34th in this field, I make my $5.00 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $20.00). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $4.00). It’s that simple.
Mobley is still the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year in my opinion, and there’s reason to be optimistic about him tonight. On paper, this looks like a tough match-up against the Philadelphia 76ers, but let’s dig into the spot a little bit. While typically this would be a hard spot against Joel Embiid — Embiid is coming off two monster minute load games and has been bumped down to questionable tonight. I do think there’s a good chance he misses this game, which would obviously improve the spot. This is an opportunity to get ahead of the field — and buy shares of a player who has a solid chance of his match-up improving based off injury news to come. Even if Embiid suits up, I’m comfortable with Mobley at this price-level with Jarrett Allen still out. Mobley sees nearly a 2% usage spike and a nice bump in rebounding numbers with Allen off the floor this season.
Overall, Mobley is outside the top-30 in Jock MKT’s pre-ranking for tonight’s slate. I think his ceiling greatly outweighs that position, especially if Embiid is ruled out.
