Jock MKT is one of the most interesting forms of DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite NBA buy for tonight’s slate.
What Is Jock MKT?
The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for this week.

2/2 Buy
Josh Giddey, SG, Oklahoma City Thunder
Highest Potential Bid: $7.50
Break-Even Point: 20
If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Giddey recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $7.50 per share for Giddey. He needs to finish 20th in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.
For example, if I buy 1 share of Giddey at $7.50 and he finishes 20th in this field, I make my $7.50 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $17.50). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $6.50). It’s that simple.
Giddey’s enjoyed a solid rookie season for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He’s averaging 11.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.0 steal in 31 minutes per game. Giddey’s been inconsistent in recent games. He’s scored as many as 39.5 fantasy points and as few as 17.25 fantasy points over his last 10 games.
Giddey will take over more of the offense with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out, though. He’s averaging 16.3 points, 9.8 rebounds, 8.5 assists, and 1.3 steals in 4 games without SGA this season. Giddey also struggled without Gilgeous-Alexander in his last game, but he posted 33 fantasy points against the Portland Blazers.
Surprisingly, Giddey’s scoring role doesn’t change all that much without SGA, as he’s only averaging 2.3 more shot attempts per game without the star point guard. With that being said, he’s averaging a ridiculous 16.3 potential assists per game in those contests, showing that Giddey is an option that’s taking over the offense.
He currently ranks 26th in Jock MKT’s pre-rank for tonight’s slate. He’s projected for 33.84 fantasy points. This projection may be a big high for Giddey with a healthy Oklahoma City rotation, but that isn’t the case. He’s taking on a massive role in the offense, and he comes with triple-double upside against the Dallas Mavericks. Giddey should be a relatively safe option with a tremendous ceiling on this slate.
