Jock MKT is fun new way to play DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite MLB buys for tonight’s slate.
What Is Jock MKT?
The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for the night.

6/28/22 Early Buy
Will Smith, Los Angeles Dodgers
Potential Bid: $7.25
Break-Even Point: 21st
If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Smith recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $7.25 per share for him. He needs to finish 21st in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.
For example, if I buy 1 share of Smith at $7.25 and he finishes 21st in this field, I make my $7.25 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $17.75). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $6.25). It’s that simple.

The Dodgers were a massive letdown on Monday night, but we simply have to go back to the well against Kyle Freeland in Coors Field tonight. Vegas isn’t worried either, with them carrying a near 7 run implied team total into tonight. Freeland is actually statistically worse vs left-handed batters, but Smith has been one of the best hitters in baseball against southpaws this season. He clearly paces the Dodgers lineup, owning a massive .400 wOBA and .260 ISO in the split. I do think Smith is the most likely Dodgers player to hit a homerun tonight with Betts still out of the lineup — and he does have potential to be the top scorer on the slate which is key when spending this much on a player.
Value Buy
Brandon Marsh, Los Angeles Angels
Potential Bid: $3.30
Break-Even Point: 49th
Marsh homered for the Angels on Monday night, and has been pretty solid for them for the entirety of the 2022 season, clearly leapfrogging Jo Adell on the Angels young outfield depth chart. Los Angeles is in another good spot tonight against Johnny Cueto, sporting a near five implied run total on Tuesday night. His advanced numbers leave a lot to be desired vs right-handed pitching, but there is room for hope when we look at his batted ball profile. His 41% hard-hit rate is one of the top marks in this lineup and it comes with a 25% line drive rate as well, the second best number on the Angels. The homerun last night could be him starting to find his power stroke.
