Jock MKT is fun new way to play DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite MLB buys for tonight’s slate.
What Is Jock MKT?
The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for the night.

6/27/22 Early Buy
Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels
Potential Bid: $5.50
Break-Even Point: 31st
If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Trout recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $6.50 per share for him. He needs to finish 31st in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.
For example, if I buy 1 share of Trout at $5.50 and he finishes 31st in this field, I make my $5.50 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $19.50). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $4.50). It’s that simple.

Even though we have Coors Field on tonight’s slate, Mike Trout is my clear top buy matched up with Lucas Giolito. I’m not entirely sure what’s wrong with Gio, but he has been unable to consistently get right-handed batters out in 2022. He’s allowing over a .450 wOBA and .350 ISO in the split while striking them out just 21% of the time. We know Trout dominates right-handed pitching and he has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball the last two weeks. He also excels against fastballs — a pitch Gio is throwing almost half the time to same-handed batters. Vegas loves the Angels here and I expect them to go over their team total as well on Monday night.
Value Buy
Trayce Thompson, Los Angeles Dodgers
Potential Bid: $3.00
Break-Even Point: 52nd
Thompson was recently re-acquired by the Dodgers and projected to be in their starting lineup tonight in Coors Field. Los Angeles owns the highest team total I’ve seen this season — sitting at a whopping seven runs as of this afternoon. Thompson does have some pop in his bat, which we like, but this is more about the exposure to the best offensive spot of the night for so cheap. Typically low order bats aren’t a main target of mine, but this offense is good which means there’s a higher chance of guys being on base in front of him. Overall, if he is confirmed in the lineup this is a must buy for this sort of price.
