Jock MKT is fun new way to play DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite MLB buys for tonight’s slate.
What Is Jock MKT?
The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for the night.

5/7/22 Top Buy
Christian Walker, Arizona Diamondbacks
Potential Bid: $5.50
Break-Even Point: 31st
If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Walsh recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $5.50 per share for him. He needs to finish 31st in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.
For example, if I buy 1 share of Walker at $5.50 and he finishes 31st in this field, I make my $5.50 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $19.50). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $4.50). It’s that simple.

Walker has been one of the most underrated hitters in baseball this season, and tonight looks like a great night to jump on the train. He matches up with Kyle Freeland, who has always struggled with right-handed batters. Freeland lives and dies with ground balls, and is allowing over a .200 ISO to right-handed batters since the start of last season. Given that strong ground ball ability, we need someone that can get the ball up in the air against him. Walker fits that mold, with a team-high 53% fly-ball rate vs left-handed pitching this season. His numbers always seem to be better vs right-handed pitching, but he still is hitting the ball hard with a 43% hard-hit rate in the split since last season. To top it off, he has been locked in this season ranking top-ten in barrel rate and top-30 in average exit velocity. He has the power to break a slate, and will likely see some righties out of the Colorado bullpen securing the strong match-up.
Secondary Buy
Jared Walsh, Los Angeles Angels
Potential Bid: $4.00
Break-Even Point: 42nd
Los Angeles is absolutely rolling this season, and I want to continue to buy shares of this team moving forward. They draw another good match-up tonight against Josiah Gray, backed by a huge 5.1 team total. Gray has been especially bad against left-handed batters this season, and Walsh is one of the better lefties in this lineup. Since the start of last season, his .382 wOBA in the split is second to only Mike Trout on this team against righty pitching. He also matches up well with Gray’s pitch mix — seeing as he throws his fastball nearly 60% of the time to left-handed batters. Walsh has some of the better fastball numbers on this team including a .417 wOBA and .257 ISO. I want to try and secure multiple players in this lineup tonight, and Walsh looks like one of the best values in the entire player pool.
