Jock MKT is fun new way to play DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite MLB buys for tonight’s slate.
What Is Jock MKT?
The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for the night.

5/26/22 Top Buy
Trevor Story, Boston Red Sox
Potential Bid: $5.00
Break-Even Point: 34th
If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Story recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $5.00 per share for him. He needs to finish 34th in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.
For example, if I buy 1 share of Story at $5.00 and he finishes 34th in this field, I make my $5.00 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $20.00). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $4.00). It’s that simple.

Story has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the last week, and his batted ball data backs that up. Over the last seven days, he ranks top-20 in baseball with fly-ball and hard-hit rate over 60%. Tonight he matches up with Dallas Keuchel, who has been a shell of his former self this season. He’s still getting ground balls, but allowing over a .360 wOBA to right-handed batters this season. Furthermore, he throws his sinker almost 60% of the time to righties, and there’s a good chance Story is one of the best sinker hitters in baseball. Over the last three seasons — he owns a wOBA just under .500 with a .364 ISO vs the pitch. We know he has slate-breaking upside, and he is my favorite buy on Thursday night.
Secondary Buy
Taylor Ward, Los Angeles Angels
Potential Bid: $4.00
Break-Even Point: 42nd
Ward is a great value buy, especially because he has been pretty much the best hitter in baseball this season. If qualified, his .507 wOBA would rank first in the MLB and it comes with a ton of power as well. Los Angeles has one of the better match-ups tonight against Hyun-Jin Ryu who has struggled mightily with right-handed batters this season. Ward has monster splits against left-handed pitching and matches up well with Ryu’s pitch mix as well. The Angels team total has already risen since open, and I expect it to climb more as we approach lock. Ward could easily be towards the $5.00 range in this match-up, making him a priority for me.
