Jock MKT is fun new way to play DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite MLB buys for tonight’s slate.
What Is Jock MKT?
The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for the night.

5/11/22 Top Buy
Kyle Tucker, Houston Astros
Potential Bid: $5.00
Break-Even Point: 34th
If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Tucker recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $5.00 per share for him. He needs to finish 34th in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.
For example, if I buy 1 share of Tucker at $5.00 and he finishes 34th in this field, I make my $5.00 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $20.00). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $4.00). It’s that simple.

Tucker and the Astros have one of the bigger team totals tonight, sitting at 4.5 runs in a match-up against Chris Archer. Archer has struggled after his first few starts of the season, and I’m expecting that to continue. He’s still only really throwing two pitches, and that makes really hard to navigate a good lineup more than one time through the order. He’s been victimized by left-handed batters this season allowing a .377 wOBA and a 43.5% hard-contact rate. Tucker has some of the better numbers on his team against right-handed pitching including a .380 wOBA since the start of last season. He also has one of the stronger batted ball profiles this season sporting a 42% hard-hit rate and 24% line drive rate. Archer’s most-used pitch vs opposite hand batters is his slider — a pitch Tucker owns a huge .254 ISO against. It’s only a matter of time before Tucker has a breakout night at the plate.
Secondary Buy
Brad Miller, Texas Rangers
Potential Bid: $3.70
Break-Even Point: 45th
Texas is one of the few teams with a larger team total than Houston tonight, up against Brady Singer. Singer underwhelmed as a starter in 2021, and ended up losing his rotation spot in Spring Training. After pitching out of the bullpen for the first month, he makes his return as a starter tonight against the Rangers. Last season. we saw mixed results from Singer who was much worse against left-handed batters than right-handed. He’s a heavy sinker ball pitcher, which could be bad news against this lineup — most have strong numbers against the pitch. Among the good sinker hitters, we have Miller who owns a .316 ISO and 60% hard-hit rate against the pitch. He also has one of the stronger batted-ball profiles on Texas this season with above-average hard-hits and fly-balls. It’s a great spot for the Rangers on Wednesday and Miller is one of the best value buys tonight.
