Jock MKT is fun new way to play DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite MLB buys for tonight’s slate.
What Is Jock MKT?
The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for the night.

4/30/22 Top Buy
Rafael Devers, Boston Red Sox
Potential Bid: $5.00
Break-Even Point: 34th
If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Devers recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $5.00 per share for him. He needs to finish 34th in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.
For example, if I buy 1 share of Devers at $5.00 and he finishes 34th in this field, I make my $5.00 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $20.00). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $4.00). It’s that simple.

Boston is in arguably the top non-Coors Field match-up on this slate against Spenser Watkins. Watkins has actually been worse against right-handed batters than left-handed, but I’m more concerned with how good Devers is himself. He’s the best hitter in this Red Sox lineup against right-handed pitching with a .383 wOBA and .323 ISO since the start of 2021. He also has the highest hard-hit rate at 49% — and the second-highest walk rate at just under 10%. He’s very hard to get out, and this will be especially hard with Watkins who has struck out just 13% of batters faced. I think the Orioles pitching and bullpen are due for some regression soon, and that could start tonight against this Red Sox offense. I like getting shares of multiple players in this offense, but Devers sticks out as the top buy on Saturday.
Secondary Buy
Travis d’Arnaud, Atlanta Braves
Potential Bid: $4.50
Break-Even Point: 38th
I think the Braves profile very well tonight as well, against Dane Dunning. Dunning is a solid mid-rotation arm for the Rangers but might find trouble in this match-up. He throws primarily a sinker to both sides of the plate — and the Braves have a number of hitters that mash sinkers. One of those being Travis d’Arnaud, who you can always get cheap shares of because he is a catcher. Nobody likes to buy shares of the worst offensive position on Jock MKT, which is an edge we can keep exploiting when guys like d’Arnaud are in good spots. Over the last three seasons, he owns a massive .403 wOBA vs sinkers to go along with a .216 ISO and 43% hard-hits.
