Welcome to League of Legends Game Theory. In this article, I will share my top plays for cash games and tournaments. I will also provide a chart displaying what teams I am targeting, and for what type of contest. Slate Thoughts:
This is going to be a slate where I stay away from cash games and go heavy on tournaments. I see this being a crazy slate where we see plenty of upsets, and possibly by teams we wouldn’t expect. First off, the top team on this slate for me, in all formats, is going to be Top eSports. They come in to this matchup vs. iG as -475 favorites, and also have one of the highest implied kill totals on the slate. Knight and Jackeylove have been the two guys you want to target in TES stacks, and that is no different tonight. They are priced up tonight, and rightfully so. With that, you will need to pair them with an underdog, or look at rostering Qingtian as a captain to open up some salary. iG are live here, and could be considered in large field gpps. I probably will stay away from IG, but if they pull off this upset, they will no doubt be in the optimal lineup.
OMG are a team I feel very confident in winning tonight. V5 are one of the worst teams in the LPL and have given me no reason to believe they can pull off the upset here. OMG come with plenty of upside in this matchup and should be a team you target heavily. If you were to play cash tonight, OMG, along with TES, would top my list. Creme and Able have been really good for OMG this split, and couldn’t find themselves in better spots tonight. OMG lead V5 in every statistical category, and also average nearly 20 kills in their wins. Load up on OMG tonight.
Finally, we need to touch on the LNG/LGD matchup. I feel this is where we get our upset tonight. Both of these squads have been absolutely horrible over their last few series, which makes this series even more interesting. Which one will be able to get back on track and play like they were earlier in the split? I believe it is LGD who get back on track tonight. LNG are again changing their starting roster, and to me this team just looks to be all kinds of messed up. LNG come in favored here, and maybe they start playing like the LNG team we witnessed early in this split. I, however, do not see that happening. I see this LNG team continuing to struggle, and guys like Shad0w and Xiye being able to take advantage of their struggles. Give me LGD in 3 games here. If, somehow, LNG figure things out, they could put up some good kill totals here. LGD tend to die quite a bit in their losses, over 20 times per loss to be exact. So, if you want to ride with LNG (High risk) you could be rewarded nicely tonight.
