One of the keys to winning serious money on Underdog Fantasy is by identifying ADP values at each position to get a leg up on your competition. This article highlights my Top-3 ADP values for the QB2 slot on your Underdog Fantasy roster. These are guys who I think will outperform their ADP significantly and can potentially win you some real money this NFL season. Let’s dive in.
Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings (QB19)
Cousins is currently being drafted as the QB19 with an overall ADP of 152.6. That is far too low for someone who finished as the QB11 overall in 2020. Cousins has finished as at least the QB18 for fantasy over the past three seasons. So, with an ADP of QB19, you’re drafting Cousins at his absolute floor and not his ceiling. With one of the best wide receiver cores in the league with Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen, an athletic red zone tight end in Irv Smith Jr., and one of the best running backs in the league in Dalvin Cook, it’s fair to assume Cousins will likely outperform his current ADP by a significant margin. He’s the perfect QB2 to pair with a high-end QB1 on your roster.
Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers (QB25)
Old Big Ben is going off the board as the QB25 and 184.6 overall in ADP. I get it, he’s not a “sexy” QB pick at this point in his career. But sexy picks don’t always win championships and money. Roethlisberger finished last season as the QB14 overall for fantasy and that was with him sitting out the week 17 game against Cleveland. He’s a borderline fantasy QB1 because drafted as a QB3. He’s not exciting, but as a QB2 you could do far worse than a quarterback who is surrounded by offensive weapons in Chase Claypool, Diontae Johnson, Juju Smith-Schuster, and rookie Najee Harris in the backfield. I’ll take Roethlisberger all day long at this ADP as my value QB2.
Jared Goff, Detroit Lions (QB30)
I know, the Lions are supposed to be really bad–but drafting Goff as being almost the worst fantasy QB in the league is an over correction to that narrative of a bad Lions offense. In 2020, Goff finished as the QB18 overall. While that isn’t anything to get excited about, it’s a great value for a guy going almost undrafted. If you believe the Lions defense is going to be bad, then you should like Goff even more. Being forced into negative game scripts is going to increase Goff’s passing attempts, and his fantasy points with it. The Lions spent money and draft capital to fortify their offensive line, so I expect Goff to have more time in the pocket than he’s had in recent years. While his receiving core is suspect at best, the sheer passing volume should allow for Goff to significantly outperform his current ADP.
