Slates Top Plays:
Jared Butler (Baylor) vs. Arkansas
Butler and the rest of the Baylor Bears find themselves in an up-tempo matchup vs. Arkansas tonight. This matchup is one in which Butler’s skill set should be perfect for this type of environment. Butler is a very strong perimeter defender who can rack up steals and a player that will cause this Arkansas team a lot of problems. Butler leads this team with a 28% usage rate, and is averaging nearly 16 ppg. I think we are still getting solid value here with him being priced below 8k. Butler will be a part of my core tonight, especially with it being only a two game slate.
DeJon Jarreau (Houston) vs. Oregon State
It appears that Jarreau is healed from his injury that he has been dealing with throughout the tournament. He played 34 minutes vs. Syracuse, and flirted with a triple/double. He had 9 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assist. Oregon State presents a tough challenge, but Jarreau and his 22% usage rate is priced too low for the floor and upside he presents.
Matthew Mayer (Baylor) vs. Arkansas
Baylor has the highest team implied total on the slate, and should be a team that most of your focus goes too tonight, especially on a two game slate. Mayer has played productive minutes off the bench for this Baylor team, throughout the first 3 rounds. The forward position on this slate is extremely weak, and lacks any value. Looking toward a guy like Mayer who should continue to play north of 20 minutes off the bench and is priced below 5k, is a guy we can consider. Mayer has a 27% usage rate and is averaging 10 ppg during the tournament.
