A Sevastova $6,500
I don’t mind Medevedev at all at his price so if you want to jump on that train go ahead. But this is my sneaky value play of the slate. Seva is playing great tennis coming off a straight set victory against Wang. Her head to head with Osaka is 2-2 so we know she has what it takes to beat her. If Sevastova can serve as well as she did last match she is capable of beating anyone in this tournament. Bold call of the day she beats Osaka in straight sets.
E Svitolina $6,800
Elina Svitolina has been in great form over the past few months as she won the WTA Finals recently. In contrast Keys has had a good tournament but she is still recovering from my injury bugs that have affected her over her career. This has caused her to lack court time so just due to that fact I’m picking Svitolina also this gives us leverage as most Americans are gonna pick Keys since more people have hear of her.
K Nishikori $10,300
Nishikori is a absolute warrior before his straight set win last time out, he was forced to play 2, 5 set matches. This time he is a heavily favored over his opponent and will be very chalky and I will gladly eat the chalk for today’s slate. I see him taking this match in 3 sets easily. There is not much to say about this play just lock him in.
K Pliskova $7,700
This is another Czech player who has been playing amazing this year. Coming of a Brisbane title Pliskova has shown us a return game that she didn’t have before. She has been in excellent form and is thought to beat. Her opponent Muguruza has been in poor form and has faced a bunch of injuries as of late. Pliskova leads the H2H 7-2 so she clearly knows how to win against Garbine.
