Today we have a nice 6 game slate without Manchester City but we do get a big game in Liverpool vs Arsenal. Tottenham will probably bring in most of the chalk but they do face a tougher test than they did the last couple of games. I also like the spot for Fulham, Everton and Leicester. Really like the slate for gpp as there is a lot of ways to go in roster construction. Here are my picks for this week.
Forward
Top: Mo Salah $10,400
If you are going to pay up at forward I think Salah is the clear choice. Sure Kane $11,400 makes for a good play considering he has scored 3 goals in his last two games but the matchup is a little tougher here which is why I prefer Salah. Arsenal is not a great team and Salah is in amazing form scoring 2 goals and 2 assist in his last two games. He should have a big game against Arsenal.
Mid: Alek Mitrovic $7,800
If you are familiar with my articles you know I love attacking Huddersfield and Mitrovic loves to attack and shoot. He is coming off a game where he took 8 shots and if he does that against Huddersfield then the upside is massive. As of now he is in my main lineup. If you feel like having a party tomorrow I would like to invite you to a Vardy $8,200 party against Cardiff. Cardiff held Palace scoreless but before that they had allowed goals in 10 straight games. Great spot for both of these guys but I do prefer Mitrovic.
Value: Troy Deeney $5,000
Deeney should get a few opportunities to find the back of the net against Newcastle. At this price he only has to take a few shots and win a few tackles to reach value and if he gets a goal you will be moving up the leaderboard. Mounie $5,800 is always in a prime spot to have a good game against Fulham and is in good form having assisted goals in his last two games.
Midfielders
Top: Gylfi Sigurdsson $8,600
There are so many good options at midfield but Gylfi is my favorite one of the group. Gylfi has been on a roll scoring 20 and 17 points in his last two games. Everton looked fantastic last week scoring 5 goals against Burnley and get a really good matchup against Brighton this week. Maddison $8,100 also makes for a great play as Leicester is playing Cardiff and should get a lot of opportunities to score and rack up points.
Mid: Mane $7,900
I really like Liverpool at home against Arsenal in a game that could provide fireworks. I will only have one of Salah and Mane but I do think you will get Mane at very little ownership as a late game hammer. Mane has had a pretty safe floor last few weeks scoring 5 and 6 points without assisting or finding the back of the net. He seems due for a big game.
Value: Juninho Bacuna $3,100
Wrote him up last week and I will write him up again as a elite value play. He will be on sets with Mooy out and they are facing Fulham. He is easily my favorite value play of the entire slate.
Defense
Top: Lucas Digne $6,300
My favorite expensive defender on the slate and it really it is not close. He is coming off a brace which will bring up his ownership but the guy has been amazing this season and has better stats than most midfielders and forwards. I love defenders on this slate and I would not be opposed to playing three of them. TAA $6,100 makes for a great play and Trippier $5,800 should be back in the starting 11 as well. However, I prefer Holebas $6,000 over Trippier.
Mid: Matt Doherty $4,500
I really do not love anyone in the mid range but Doherty seems really interesting. He is priced down due to the matchup against Tottenham who has been on fire recently but that should really keep him active and he does have 3 goals and 3 assist this season including a goal against Chelsea.
Value: Yerry Mina $3,200
I have been on Mr. Mina all year long and he came through last week with a goal. I will probably not pay down this week on defense since there are so many awesome high priced options but you could do worse than Mina who has clean sheet upside and the ability to find the back of the net in set pieces.
Goalkeeper
Martin Dubravka $4,200
This is the kind of slate where you really just pick the goalie that fits your build and move on. Dubravka does stand out to me because he is cheap and Watford is not really a powerhouse. Dubravka already faced Watford this year and finished with a 12 point game and I think he has the chance to do it again. This game will be at Watford so It could be a little tougher for him to keep the clean sheet but he does have a chance at clean sheet points and saves. The price also helps you pay for those expensive defenders. If you want to pay down even more you can go with Patricio $3,600 going up against a red hot Spurs team. Last time they played Patricio finished with 4 points including 5 saves while giving up 3 goals and I could see a similar performance here and for minimum price that is all you need.
As always if you have any questions feel free to send me a message on discord or on twitter. I can’t wait to see all the screenshots after we dominate this week! Enjoy the slate and make sure to tune in to our slack when lineups come out since we usually drop a play or two in there as well.
