After enjoying a successful week of Champions League and Europa League we are back to our bread and butter with the Premier League. This week we get a six game slate with Liverpool being the chalk of the slate being massive favorites against Cardiff City. Mo Salah will be the highest owned player on the slate and rightfully so as he has over a 70 percent chance to find the back of the net. He is chalk I am willing to eat in gpp and differentiate somewhere else. I really like the spots for Watford and Wolves as well. Here are my picks for this week.
Forwards
Bournemouth: Callum Wilson $7,200
I wrote up Wilson last week and he let us down big time. This week I am going right back to him and he gets an ever better matchup against a Fulham team that has given up 16 goals in their last 5 games. The dud last week should bring his ownership down and he should just smash in this spot. Callum Wilson has the highest odds to find the back of the net of any player not counting Liverpool. He will be one of my first guys locked into my gpp lineup this week.
Also, consider West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic $7,000. Arny gets a good matchup against Leicester City and could be a really nice late game hammer. Leicester has given up 5 goals last two games and if West Ham gets goals here I expect Arny to be involved. Southampton’s Danny Ings $6,500 gets a good matchup against Newcastle and could be a low owned goal. Fulham’s Mitrovic $7,500 is worth considering as well. He has some really nice goal upside in this matchup.
Midfielders
Newcastle: Jonjo Shelvey $5,200
Jonjo has been awesome the last 3 weeks scoring 9, 16 and 16 points including 2 goals. He has also taken 9 shots and 16 crosses during that timespan. He also gets a soft matchup against Southampton and he should easily exceed this price tag. The low price also allows us to get the Liverpool pieces needed to survive this slate. Mo Salah $11,400 is a lock in all formats for me and Shelvey is a great player to pair with him at the midfield.
Also, consider Watford Mid Roberto Pereyra $6,700 who is playing Huddersfield and you know how much I love to target the leaky defense from Huddersfield. Fulham’s Andre Shurrle $7,400 also makes for a great midfield play and has found the back of the net in his last two games. Nathan Redmond $5,400 is a nice cheap option and he has been taking most sets for Southampton and has 10 crosses in his last 2 games.
Defenders
Watford: Jose Holebas $7,100
When you see that price tag the first thing that might come to mind is No way Jose. However Holebas should easily reach value against Huddersfield and has a really nice floor of about 8-10 points with the upside to assist in a goal to give him a slate breaking 20 plus performance.
Also, consider Leicester defender Ben Chilwell $5,700 and Huddersfield’s Chris Lowe $4,700.
Goalkeeper
Wolves: Rui Patricio $4,900
Ideally I would like to pay up for Allison $6,000 who is a safe bet for a win and clean sheet. If you can afford him by all means play him. However in my current build for this week I do not have the funds to get up to him so in comes Rui Patricio. I really like Wolves in this spot to get a win and a clean sheet which would give Patricio a 10 point floor and the upside of more with saves and he comes at a discount of $1,100 dollars from Alisson. If you are feeling frisky you can take a shot with Jonas Lossl $4,000 who plays Watford and is not expected to win or keep a clean sheet but could get some saves with the watford attack looking to score.
As always if you have any questions feel free to send me a message on slack or on twitter. I can’t wait to see all the screenshots after we dominate this week! Enjoy the slate and make sure to tune in to our slack when lineups come out since we usually drop a play or two in there as well.
