Bundesliga Breakdown 5/23 – Ram’s Reasons

Forwards

High Priced

Sancho- still haven’t seen news on minutes, only played 11 min, GPP only
Haaland- cash, complete stud but little tougher matchup
Plea- GPP, pricey but produces, best game in meaning of watching excitement, two very good teams
Hazard- cash/GPP, if sancho is out, lock him, if he’s in, he’s riskier but heck of a game he had last out, form is there on biggest favorites
Kramaric- GPP, a great play if he starts. Coming back from injury but he just scores, might be too risky for most.
Proger- GPP, back to the well… didn’t pan out last game as it was a 0-0 snore, but hoffenheim aren’t good either so it could be open
Diaby- Cash/GPP, solid play, so fast, creative on the wing for a good offense, but tougher test this week

Mid-Priced

Grifo- cash/GPP, one of my favorite plays. Forward vs Bremen! Assist and 4 crosses in 68 min last game in much tougher matchup vs Leipzig
Rashica- GPP, major letdown last game, still a playmaker on Bremen and has the skills to put on a big performance
Skov- GPP, I liked Hoffenheim at first look but then looked at last weeks game log and highlights… they were missing from the highlights as they got crushed by Hertha. But this is a match vs relegation zone Paderborn and did have 7 crosses last time out

Cheapies

Steffen- GPP, BvB have just been that good, can’t play someone goal dependent vs them
Petersen- GPP, if he starts… its vs Bremen! Can score, has 8 this year

Midfielders

High Priced

Havertz- Cash/GPP, scored 2 last game, played up top…. very good offensive team.
Bellarabi- Cash/GPP, had an assist in 29 min, would guess he starts this game
Demirbay- Cash/GPP, goal and assist last game, just another Leverkusen stud midfielder… just check lineups!
Hofmann- GPP, set pieces on good team, tough matchup though.
Amiri- GPP, Leverkusen midfielder who didn’t do much in plus matchup… sub risk but talented squad around him and he plays in creative role
Brandt- GPP, not sure how BVB lineup, if he’s up on the right again, I’ll have some shares.
Arnold- GPP, vs BvB is not good, but he always finds a way to produce, safe floor but limited upside
Guerreiro- cash/GPP lock. He was an absolute stud last Saturday, and even missed a sitter. 7k is silly, he’s a 7k defender or a 9k mid.

Mid-Priced

Bittencourt- GPP, liked him last week and he produced but Bremen just aren’t consistent, if he was 5k I’d be all over it
Hakimi- GPP leverage, I went hakimi over guerreiro in one line last weekend and it cost me, he still hit double figures and is in same great spot as the rest of BvB. I will be over weight
Kaderbak- cash/GPP, he was in good spot last time, just missed double figures and now is in better spot.

Cheapies

Aranguiz- GPP, good glue guy but not fantasy friendly.
Klaassen- Top GPP play, he was suspended for last game so people may overlook. He’s a big part of Bremen and they will have chances. For 4700, I like the upside.
Rudy- GPP, he’s another guy who should be better than he is. Was highly regarded but now is just middling on a bad team, but has magic in him to pull out a goal.
Schmid- GPP, mid vs Bremen… not much else to love.
Reyna/Witsel/Can- all deep GPP, any one of these could start or they all could take minutes away from other BvB mids. That Tuesday match vs Bayern looms large.
Grillitsch- GPP, about as low as I think I’d go.

Defense

High Priced

Bensebaini- GPP (probably don’t have the money in cash), had a big game last time out.
Gunter- Cash/GPP, too defensive play for me. Should produce more this game vs Bremen, CS possible.
Otavio/Mbabu- GPP, both produce. BVB tough but I could see them both being active on both ends, CS doubtful
Gulde- Fade for me… his ownership will be high as people see he scored last game. I’d rather Gunter for just 800 more.

Mid-Priced

No one… I’d avoid this whole chunk. Either pay up 5k+ or down 3.8k and below.

Cheapies

Gelassie- another probably fade for me… will have higher ownership since he scored last game. Not consistent.
Koch- GPP, good punt. Has peripherals, can score in the air.
Brooks- deep GPP, he has limited upside but should see peripherals and can always out jump on sets. Just hope he puts it into the other net, not his own again.

Goalkeepers

If you fade BVB… play Casteels, otherwise do not.
Burki is solid, Wolfsburg could easily get one though and limit his upside with lack of saves.
Schwolow is my favorite play. Bremen just aren’t good. Best chance at CS.
Baumann is solid play, Paderborn are not strong offensively, but don’t take high volume shots.
Zingerle is my punt, Hoffenheim did not look good vs Hertha and Paderborn did at least keep a CS last week.

Overall

-BVB reign kings again as biggest favorite. Make sure in cash you have about 3 pieces, preferably from attack as Wolfsburg could score and ruin CS.
-MGB/LEV game is highest total and could easily be a 2-2 type game. I like both sides and if you are fading BVB that’s the stack to play.
-Hoffenheim intrigues me, but they really stunk last week in decent spot. This is better but trust isn’t there.
-Freiburg is definitely high on my lists as they face Bremen who bleed fantasy points. -I don’t hate a few value spots from Bremen even. (Klaassen top)
-I won’t own much Wolfsburg/paderborn, if any.
