This weekend we are in Charlotte for the Monster Energy All-Star race. Let’s start off by saying this race is going to be a fun race to watch on tv then to be watching your dfs lineups. There is a lot of racing, passing and almost always a wreck that takes out top competitors. I really approach this weekend with a gpp mindset. On draftkings, I believe there is an edge so I will probably dabble in some cash games there. Instead of listing plays and descriptions of each this week I am just going to talk strategy for this weekend. On draftkings, we will get 4 drivers added to the player pool after the Monster Open is concluded. This race starts at 6 pm eastern and should be over by 7. Each stage winner will be added to the all-star race and then the winner of the fan vote will be added as well. This is the slight edge that I am talking about. These 4 drivers, whoever they may be will be locks for cash games on draftkings. They start from the rear giving you a solid floor and most of them were on the winning lineup last year. This is also a weekend where its going to be ok to leave salary on table for both sites. With a limited driver pool, in order to be different on tournaments, leaving salary allows you one way to be different. On Fanduel we only have 15 drivers. They will not be adding any drivers from the Open and the fan vote. With it being a smaller player pool and Fanduel placing more importance on finishing position, we can target guys starting closer to the front. The guys starting from the 10th-15th will be the popular plays so I can see mixing guys starting 5th-9th in order to have a little different lineup. As with Draftkings, only having 15 drivers in the driver pool means you need to get weird to have a more unique lineup to take down tourments tonight. I’ll list my top plays and will come back in here after the Open and list the Open drivers and fan vote driver that make the all star race after its announced. I won’t have a final thoughts today cause of the limited player pool.
