Dave’s Drivers to Watch – Nascar DFS – Digital Ally 400

This week we head to Kansas for Saturday night racing. With this race we get the always fun impound race. They won’t do post qualifying tech until Saturday at 2:30. We should have an official lineup by about 4:30 pm. I will make updates to this article in red in case any drivers fail tech. This is a mile and a half track that we will be looking for 2 dominators in gpps and 1-2 dominators in cash. It’s very important to check on the official starting lineup after tech is done. If one driver fails tech it can change the entire slate and strategy.

We had a lot happen today in tech. 11 cars failed tech. I think your cash lineup can now have 0 dominators in it. The drivers who failed are Almirola, Suarez, Elliott, Truex, Larson, Ty Dillon, Logano, McDowell, Cassill, Gase and Hill. Ty Dillon, McDowell become top value options now. In cash you will have to decide between Elliott, Truex and Logano as one play and then use the other guys as cheaper place differential plays. I could see you still using Harvick in cash as a dominator then using cheaper place differential plays but we also get a competition caution at lap 30 that could hurt his dominator points. Any questions please contact me on twitter @davidjr831 or in our Nascar Discord. Good luck

Kevin Harvick (DK $10,600 FD $14,000)

Kevin will be the top dominator play this week. All the Stewart-Haas drivers qualified in the top 4 positions. They all unloaded very fast and showed consistent speed in practice where Kevin was a top all the consecutive lap speeds. At Kansas, he has 2 wins and hasn’t finished worse than 12th in the last 5 races, including a win in last springs Kansas race. At this moment Kevin is my top spend up option for cash games

Ryan Blaney (DK $9,300 FD $12,200)

Ryan is a great place differential play this weekend. If you take out his 37th place finish due to an accident last spring, Ryan has 6 career top 14 finishes here at Kansas in 8 races. He had top 10 consecutive speed in final practice which will benefit him as Kansas tends to have long runs with minimal cautions.

Denny Hamlin (DK $9,100 FD $12,400)

Denny is another great place differential play this weekend, unofficially starting 17th. Denny has also shown good recent history, finishing top 15 in 4 of the last 5 races here. This track can be compared to a couple of the other mile and a half tracks they have run this year. Denny won the race at Texas and finished 10th in Las Vegas.

All 3 SHR drivers(Clint Bowyer, Aric Almirola, Daniel Suarez)

When looking at tournaments, these three drivers give you the opportunity to get a potential dominator at a cheaper price. I would rank them in the order I listed. All three have shown speed in practice and qualified 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Clint has the hometown narrative, Aric has been pretty consistent most of the season and Suarez has really turned his driving up a notch. Plug in one of these drivers into a tourney lineup with at least one other dominator and if one of them or more fails tech, plug them in your cash lineup.

Ryan Newman (DK $7,800 FD $8,000)

Newman will probably become a chalky place differential play if nobody fails tech. This is the reason you play Newman this week. His recent history isn’t the greatest here but in his career he has 1 win and 7 top 10 finishes. He has improved as this season has moved along with his new team. Depending on how many drivers fail tech, Newman is an option in all formats.

Joey Logano (DK$10,200 FD $14,500)

I like Joey as a tourney option this week. He starts 20th at the moment and offers place differential upside along with potential dominator upside with fastest laps. I don’t think Joey will be super low owned but I can see people finding the extra $400 on draftkings to get Harvick. Logano has 2 career wins here and if you take out two races where he was involved in an accident, he has finished worse than 8th once in 6 races.

Value Options

Matt Dibenedetto
