Dave’s Drivers to Watch – Nascar DFS – Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race

This weekend, the Cup series heads to Bristol. This is one of my favorite races to watch. Close racing, bumpers rubbing and tempers flaring all add up to an exciting race under the lights at Bristol. This is another tech race so we won’t have an official lineup until sometime mid to late Saturday afternoon. Like always I will update at the top of the article as tech progresses and cars fail. This weekend we have a lot of dominator points available, 500 laps means there’s a total of 250 fastest laps points and 125 laps led points available on draftkings. In cash, I will be looking for 2-3 dominators depending how tech shakes out. On fanduel, dominator points are important this weekend and getting drivers that will complete all the laps is important here as they score for laps run. Hitting the dominators with the right value guys will be the key to success at Bristol.

Kyle Busch (DK $12,700 FD $15,500)

Kyle Busch was a victim of when he qualified and will start 31st. Kyle will be the chalk dominator this weekend on both sites. He has won 3 of the last 4 races run here at Bristol in the Cup series. As we saw in the Xfinity race, starting in the back and having a good car can be very good for you dfs lineups as Tyler Reddick moved up and won the race accumulating over 100 points on draftkings. As long as Kyle doesn’t wreck he has top 5 upside and chance to win this race accumulating major place differential points.

Kyle Larson (DK $9,200 FD $11,500)

At this moment, the decision will be Hamlin or Larson as another dominator in your lineup as long as tech goes smoothly. This is one of Larson’s better tracks and if he is gonna win this season, it could come this weekend. In the last 5 races here, Larson has 4 top 5’s and has accumulated dominator points in 4 of those 5 races too leading 200 or more laps twice. He also comes at a cheaper price then Hamlin which will help in overall lineup construction as you try to squeeze in dominators.

Clint Bowyer (DK $8,200 FD $10,000)

Has anyone had worse luck then Clint in the past month and a half or so. With that said, Clint sets up to be a good play this weekend. He starts 20th at this moment. Clint is competing for the final playoff spot and will position himself to try to get as many points in the stages and finish top 10 if he can stay clean. He did lead over 100 laps last year in this race and in the past 5 races here, he has finished no worse then 8th only 1 time. At some point Clint will shake this bad luck off and get back on track, hopefully its this weekend.

Daniel Suarez (DK $7,200 FD $9,000)

I think Daniel is a lower owned option who, if he keeps his nose clean, can finish top 10. Most people on draftkings will go up $200 to Buescher who starts 29th for the place differential or down $200 to the next driver I will talk about. Suarez has never finished worse the 18th here (he starts 18th) and finished 8th here in the spring. Suarez had top 10 consecutive lap speed in final practice and is also fighting for that final playoff spot and the best finish possible at Bristol to help him get into the playoffs.

Jimmie Johnson (DK $7,000 FD $8,800)

As I stated above, Jimmie will be a very popular pick this weekend. Most people will start their cash builds with Kyle and Jimmie. At this price for the 7 time champ, I love the upside he gives us. I could easily see Jimmie finishing in the top 15 Saturday night. He hasn’t finished worse then 11th since the Spring 2016 race here. Well Jimmie has had his struggles in recent memory, this track is made for him to get back on course and battle for that final playoff spot as well. Plug him in your cash lineup and walk away.

Paul Menard (DK $6,200 FD $7,300)

In Paul Menard’s last five races here, he has only one finish outside of the top 16 including a 6th place finish here in the Spring of this year. In final practice he had top 12 consecutive lap speed and is starting 25th at the moment. His career average finish here is just over 17th place and always seems to find a way to finish the race here which is a bonus on fanduel. On fanduel I could see you playing MDB at this price point as well since he has had a very fast car all weekend but starting 7th limits his draftkings upside.
