KARMA NATION! Can I get a ‘hell yeah’? StableDuel is dropping one of their biggest contests EVER on us. $60 entry grants you into their $40,000 contest where the 1st place finisher walks away with $10,000. This contest pays out the top 60 stables, so you can AT LEAST double your money if you land in the top 60. If you’re not ready to launch into the big contest, there is a $10 contest that is paying out the top 15 finishers. Not only does StableDuel offer just absolutely fire contests today, but Gulfstream has one of the most loaded cards you’ll see in a while. Tons of Stakes races across the card of 14 total races. The Florida Derby ends the card and people should take note.. More winners of the Kentucky Derby come out of this race than any other prep. I think there’s at least 4 horses in this race that we will see next month running in the Derby. Signing up for StableDuel is FREE and there is NO BETTER TIME than NOW to SIGN UP!
If you’re new to StableDuel, the idea is simple. Select 10 horses to build your “stable” while staying within the salary cap of $50,000. Horses are assigned prices based on their morning line odds, so you cannot use all favorites in your stable. StableDuel awards points for horses that come 1st – 5th and subtracts horses that finish outside of the top 5. This is why it is crucial to make sure you’re reading our content to narrow in on value horses that we think can get points. Don’t forget, you can get ALL of my picks by jumping in our chat room!

#1 Mischievous Kiss $9,000 – Race 11
I do think Race 11 seems tough and there are certainly some wild card players in this race, but I love Mischievous Kiss in this spot. There is one cheap speed horse (#4 Sensitivity) that I will worry about wiring the field, but if we can get past that horse, Mischievous Kiss should be sitting right off Sensitivity’s flank. When the moment strikes, Mischievous Kiss should fire and collect those 60 base points for our stables. I should also point out that this horse has never failed to finish in the money in her five career races. She has two wins and 3 shows. As a bonus, I think Sensitivity could possibly be doubled up with Mischievous Kiss if you’re looking for a nice value horse. The issue with Sensitivity is that she is 1 for 1 and we don’t really know how good of a race the maiden race she won was. So I do think she’s a bit more of a gamble, but it could pay off!

#2 Laughing Boy $3,000 – Race 6
Race 6 is the Grade 3 Ghostzapper and there is a horse in here that is 4/5 on the morning line. When you have a horse with those odds, most other horses in that race will have their odds boosted higher. I looked at this race and landed on #2 Laughing Boy. This horse is looking like the only speed in this race. While he is untested at this level, he does meet friends he has competed against and done well. Besides having the lone speed, the jockey upgrade to Julien Leparoux is a nice bonus. JLP is one of my favorite turf jockeys, but when he has a speed horse on dirt, there is no one better than ‘the French strangler‘ at getting a horse to run its eyeballs out.

#4 Weyburn $1000 – Race 10
There’s a lot of red flags in Race 10 and it drove me to land on Weyburn. The morning line favorite is a horse that hates 7F, but after his last start on a year layoff grabbing second, I guess I get it. I just think Weyburn has ran with the best of the best that this actually seems like a soft spot. The winners of the last 3 races he was in were Hot Rod Charlie, Essential Quality and Mandaloun. All three of those horses were mega superstars and you have Weyburn grabbing 2nds and 3rds to those guys. This race doesn’t seem classy enough and the distance is not an issue. Weyburn might not have the same speed as those top name horses, but he should have enough to hang in a race like this.
