Hello again Karma Nation,
The NHL schedule has been helter skelter this week, and ends with this busier than normal Sunday. This all-day docket has 20 teams skating.
Our focus here will be on the main game set on both DraftKings and Fanduel that includes the six games that starting at 6PM EST and later.
-Insights and player picks for tonight’s 6 game slate-
- Biggest favorites: TB, BOS, CGY
- Highest game totals: DET@TB, MON@FLA
- Lowest game totals: DAL@ARI, BUF@BOS, PHI@ANH
Offense:
Charlie Coyle BOS ($3600-DK, $4200-FD) has been averaging 17 minutes over his last six games, picking up four points and putting 14 shots on goal. Coyle sees time on the Bruin’s 2nd power play unit, and has produced an assist and four shots in two games against Buffalo so far this season.

Yanni Gourde TB ($3800-DK, $3900-FD) has a great “get-right” spot today. He is on home ice versus Detroit, a team we have had success picking on all season long. The Red Wings rank next to last defensively against wingers and the Lightning are today’s biggest favorite.
Nick Cousins MON ($3400-DK, $3800-FD) also sees 2nd unit power play time and this game has definite shoot-out potential. Florida ranks 28th against opposing wings. As a team, Montreal has been scoring well lately with 17 goals over the last four games.
Also consider: Denis Gurianov DAL ($3300-DK, $3500-FD)
Defense:
Anton Stralman FLA ($2800-DK, $3700-FD) has contributed two goals on seven shots and nine blocks in the Panther’s last four games. Stralman gets a home date with the 30th ranked defense of the Canadians.
Alex Goligoski ARI ($3500-DK, $4800-FD) seems too cheap for a d-man who plays over 22 minutes per game, and is active on the power play. The Coyotes have played well at home this year, plus the Stars are currently ranked 20th in defending blueliners.
Also consider: Matt Niskanen PHI ($3800-DK, $4400-FD)
Goaltenders:
David Rittich CGY ($7600-DK, $7700-FD) has won seven of his last nine starts, and the Flames are the 3rd-best favorite to win today. Rittich has had a solid season for Calgary with a .917 save%, and allowing a modest 2.58 goals/game.
Curtis McElhinney TB ($7700-FD only) is minding the net for today’s biggest favorite against the league’s worst scoring team. I would not spend the extra $500 on DK for McElhinney today, as he has been generous in letting in goals.
Enjoy the Sunday action on the ice!
