There are just 10 teams skating tonight but with some surprisingly good spots to find value. It’s a great day to use a game-by-game approach to highlight some lineup value so let’s get to it:
Chicago@New Jersey- projected total: 6-7 goals. New Jersey is a -140 home favorite to win.
D-Will Butcher NJ ($3400 DK, $3700 FD) sees 2nd-unit PP time for Devils. Butcher has taken 24 shots and blocked 15 in last 14 games, and Chicago ranks mid-pack defensively versus blueliners.
C-Dylan Strome CHI ($3900 DK, $5000 FD) plays on Blackhawks’ #1 power play unit. Strome has tallied 19 points, including 12 in his last 10 games, and The Devils are 21st defensively against centers.

Montreal@N.Y. Rangers- projected total: 6-7 goals. Montreal is a slight road favorite at -115 to win.
W-Brendan Lemieux NYR ($3400 DK, $3700 FD) gets second-unit PP time, and scored a goal in each of his last two games. Montreal ranks 27th in defense against wingers so far this season.
W-Nick Cousins MON ($3000 DK, $3200 FD) is hard to ignore in this match up versus the Rangers’ 25th ranked defense. Cousins is coming off his best game of the season with a power-play goal on four shots and two blocks against Colorado last night.
Arizona@Pittsburgh- projected total: 5-6 goals. Pittsburgh is the biggest favorite tonight at -175.
G-Tristan Jarry PIT ($8300 DK, $8200 FD) is not a great value but I do not like any other goaltenders on the slate tonight. Use the other value plays to spend up for Jarry since Arizona is playing the 2nd game of a road back-to-back, and he has won 5 straight home games.
Los Angeles@Edmonton- projected total: 6 goals. Edmonton is a -170 home favorite to win.
W-Alex Iafallo LA ($3700 DK, $4400 FD) sees top scoring and top power-play time for the Kings. The Oilers’ defense has been mediocre against opposing wingers, and Iafallo has tallied four points and taken 14 shots in his last six games.
Washington@Anaheim- projected total: 6 goals. Washington is a -150 road favorite to win.
D-Michal Kempny WAS ($3900 DK, $3800 FD) has had a price reduction due to a recent dry spell, but has shown signs of coming back with an assist, six shots and four blocks in his last three games. The Ducks rank 22nd defensively against d-men.
C-Sam Steel LA ($3500 DK, $4100 FD) is my hunch play of the night. He had his best game three weeks ago in Washington with a power-play goal on four shots and a block. A performance similar to that at home could easily happen.
***With the instability of a small slate, I’m playing half the volume as I normally would. Even a small NHL schedule can provide excellent action on the ice.
