Tonight’s NHL schedule brings a nice opportunity for lineup variation with 18 teams in action. Here are some hidden gems to help make your roster builds easier to spend up at goalie, or for the high-priced studs you like.

- Highest implied totals: BUF@TB, MIN@NYR, SJ@LA
- Lowest implied totals: VGK@DAL, STL@NSH, NYI@ANH
Offense:
- Yanni Gourde TB ($3900-DK, $4800-FD) This game has one of tonight’s highest projected over/under totals, and Gourde has done some solid work with a goal and two assists in his two match ups against Buffalo this season. In fact, he has been stellar in his last eight games overall, taking 15 shots and grabbing nine points. I’ll be really surprised if the visiting Sabre’s 24th ranked defense against wingers can keep Gourde off the score sheet tonight.
- Emil Bemstrom CLS ($3400-both sites) has impressed enough as a rookie to skate on the Jackets’ top line and second power play unit. Bemstrom has notched six points and taken 17 shots in his last eight games, and gets a good home match up against Ottawa. Columbus has been impressive lately, winning three straight home games.
- Dylan Gambrell SJ ($2500-DK, $3100-FD) My extreme punt of the night is Gambrell, who has put together back-to back nice games for fantasy owners. He has recorded an assist, taken three shots, blocked six, and also gets second-unit power play time for the Sharks. The Kings defense ranks 5th worst in goals against this season, and it won’t take much to pay off this tiny price tag.
Also: Carl Grundstrom LA ($2600-DK, $3100-FD) Denis Gurianov DAL ($3500-DK, $3700-FD)
Defense:
- Ryan Suter MIN ($3800-DK, $4800-FD) has been on fire lately with five assists and six blocked shots in his last three games. It’s hard to find a d-man that plays in his team’s top pairing and on the #1 power play at this price. Talk about a GREAT spot … tonight’s game with the Rangers has one of the highest implied totals, and Suter has only played less that 25 minutes once in his last nine games.
- Brady Skjei NYR ($3400-DK, $4400-FD) skates in the Rangers’ top defensive pairing, and has picked up a pair of assists, taken seven shots, and blocked four in his last two games. Just like Suter listed above, Skjei is in a GREAT match up at home facing a Wild team that ranks next to last defensively against blueliners.
Also: Zach Bogosian BUF ($2500-DK, $3500-FD)
Goaltenders:
- Thatcher Demko VAN ($7000-DK, $7900-FD) has won five of his eight starts, and has a good match up tonight versus a Flyer’s team that has only averaged 2.33 goals in their last six games. Demko should see good shot volume as the Flyers rank 11th in shots taken so far this season.
- Joonas Korpisalo CLS ($7600-FD only) is gunning for his fourth straight win at home facing the Senators. Columbus is the second highest favorite to pick up a win tonight, and Korpisalo should benefit from a road-weary Ottawa team that is playing their 4th road game in 10 days.
