And we are back for new PGA Tour season and my Top DFS Plays!
The season kicks off with The Sentry at The Plantation Course at Kapalua (Par 73, 7,596 yards). The course features its natural undulation that allows the pros to provide some the longest drives on Tour.
And scoring will be fast and furious as the winning score has been in the mid to upper 20-under range with reachable par 5s with their second shots.
The winner last year was Chris Kirk, who is about Tour average in driving distance (299.9). He won the event at 29-under.
This is a PGA Tour signature with no cut — so don’t be afraid to get different with you lineups since everyone plays four rounds of golf.

Onto this week’s Top DFS Plays for The Sentry!
10K & Above
Xander Schauffele ($11,000, 25 percent rostered)
I’m starting my Top DFS Plays the same way I ended it last year for The Tour Championship 10K & Above picks.
Schauffele is at the top of my spreadsheet thanks to Scottie Scheffler cutting his hand on some glass in a Christmas Day accident.
But Schauffele was 1B to Scheffler’s 1A on the Tour last season.
Xander ended his major winless slump in a big way, taking down The PGA Championship before surviving tough conditions at The Open Championship.
His all-around game makes him a good start for your DFS lineups.
9K & Above
Justin Thomas ($9,700, 28 percent)
Thomas had a down year by his standards in 2024, but he seems to found his stride recently.
He finished 2nd at the Zozo Championship in Japan and fell short to Scheffler at the Hero World Challenge. He finished 3rd after leading after the third round.
But Thomas is the only player in the field that has won The Sentry twice.
8K & Above
Sahith Theegala ($8,600, 17 percent)
Theegala fell just short of winning The Sentry last year as Kirk held him off with a birdie on the 71st hole.
One of Theegala’s weaknesses is his accuracy off the tee, but Kapalua course wide fairways allows Sahith to swing away.
But he should be someone to watch on the back 9 as the week progresses. He 16-under last year on the back nine.
7K & Above
Davis Thompson ($7,900, 12 percent)
Thompson had a break-through season in 2024 and looks to build on it.
His all-around game should fit well at Kapalua despite shaky approach numbers that are needed at The Sentry.
Even though this is no-cut event, Thompson’s worst finish since the end of May was 66th at the tough The Open Championship. His average finish is 19.5 during that stretch other than The Open Championship finish.
Punt Plays
Aaron Rai ($6,700, 6 percent) is completely mispriced in my opinion as he ranks 10th on my spreadsheet. And Kevin Yu ($6,300, 4 percent) made an appearance in my Top 10 and should be nice piece to a studs and duds build.
