Genesis Open 2019

Round 1 Showdown Slate

 

The Genesis Open takes place at its usual course Riviera Golf and Country Club, Los Angeles with 14 of the Worlds Top 20 players taking place including Tiger Woods.

Weather is likely to influence Thursdays play although the forecast does appear to improve into the weekend.

Whilst early in the week there is a chance of Thunderstorms midday so later starter may just have the advantage on Day 1 if there is a delay.

 

Top Tier

Justin Thomas – $10200

Played well at The Waste Management and has made 4/4 cuts at Riviera never shooting over par in round 1, T9th last year was best finish

 

Bubba Watson – $9300

3 wins in last 5 years, and T4th at Waste Management, Bubba well is Bubba and missed cuts and withdrawn at Riviera too, but hopefully in a good place this year

 

Xander Schauffele – $9400

Finished T9th last year on only start and shot 66, 66 over the weekend suggesting his liking for the course, hoping for a faster start this time around

 

Patrick Cantley – $8800

Started with a 66 last year, but poor on return at Farmers Insurance, however had played in Middle East previous week

 

Mid Tier

Cameron Smith – $8400

Having great season so far T6th hear last year shooting 65 in round 3

 

Adam Hadwin – $8300

4/4 cuts made at Riviera, T6th last year, but his round one scoring can but up and down, two 65s this year, but a mix of 77’s and 74’s

 

Low Owned

JT Poston – $6800

66 first round 2017 and in good form

 

Carlos Ortiz – $6500

2 top 30 finishes in previous starts at Riviera
