QB/RB/WR Stack
Kyler Murray/David Johnson/Larry Fitzgerald
The Arizona Cardinals haven’t featured an elite offense, as they only rank 23rd in the NFL in total yards (326.3) and 25th in points (18.5) per game this season. With that being said, they get a great matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, who have given up 386.3 total yards and 27.5 points per game this season. The Cardinals are currently +3.5 point underdogs in a game set at 47.5 points, giving them an implied team total of 22 points.
Kyler Murray has struggled at times this season, but his versatility has helped him be a consistent fantasy option, who also possesses tremendous upside. Through four games, he has thrown for 1,071 yards with 4 touchdowns on 169 attempts. Murray has also added 113 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground. He’s averaging 20.5 fantasy points per game this season, and this will be his easiest test to date. Larry Fitzgerald has been one of his top targets, recording 23 receptions for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns on 36 targets. He has seen a team-high six targets inside the 10-yard-line, giving him ample opportunities for touchdowns. Fitzgerald could also benefit from injuries, as Christian Kirk and Damiere Byrd aren’t expected to play in this game. That could also help David Johnson, who has been a huge part of their passing attack in recent weeks. He has only seen 47 rush attempts this season, turning those into 173 yard and 1 touchdown. More importantly, Johnson owns 21 receptions for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns on 28 targets. He has also seen 20 targets over his last 2 games, and could see a similar workload with Kirk and Byrd injured. Arizona’s offense that generally spreads the ball around should be a bit more condensed this weekend, and they should be able to take advantage of their best matchup early this season.
QB/WR/WR Stack
Matt Ryan/Julio Jones/Mohamed Sanu
The Atlanta Falcons have featured one of the best passing offenses in the NFL this season. Through four weeks, they are averaging 312.5 passing yards per game, which ranks second in the league. They also owns eight passing touchdowns, although they have struggled with six interceptions. The Falcons get a matchup against the Houston Texans, who are allowing 259 passing yards per game in 2019. They have also given up five passing touchdowns, while recording only one interception this season. Atlanta is a +5 point underdog in a game set at 49 points, and they feature an implied team total of 22 points this week.
Matt Ryan is averaging a healthy 44 pass attempts per game this season. He has turned those into 331.3 yards and 2.0 touchdowns per game, as well. Ryan is still surprisingly cheap, but he is averaging 23.7 fantasy points per game this season. Julio Jones is coming off of his worst game of the season, but he has still posted 23 receptions for 317 yards and 4 touchdowns on 37 targets. He ranks sixth in the NFL with 474 air yards to go along with a 12.8 aDOT. Jones leads Atlanta with four red zone targets, as well. He has scored 29.8 and 30.6 fantasy points in two of his last three games, and he gets an elite matchup this week. Mohamed Sanu adds a bit of consistency to this stack. While he generally isn’t the sexy pick, he has posted 24 receptions for 239 yards on 31 targets this season. He’s coming off of his best game of the season, recording 9 receptions for 91 yards on 12 targets against the Tennessee Titans. If you’re looking for more upside in this stack, replace Sanu with Austin Hooper, who has been a featured part of the offense early on.
QB/WR/TE Stack
Andy Dalton/Auden Tate/Tyler Eifert
The Cincinnati Bengals have struggled to find success in 2019, but they still rank 13th in the NFL in passing yards (257) per game. Unsurprisingly, they have only posted five passing touchdowns with four interceptions this season. Cincinnati gets a great matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, though, who push the pace in games, and are allowing 271 passing yards per game. They have also given up 10 passing touchdowns, while failing to record any interceptions in 2019. The Bengals are -3 point favorites in a game set at 47.5 points, and they own one of the higher implied team totals on the slate at 25.5 points.
Andy Dalton is coming off of a terrible game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football, but he performed well in his three starts prior to that. In those starts, he was averaging 326.2 yards and 1.7 touchdowns on 43 pass attempts per game. He also averaged a healthy 22.2 fantasy points per game in those contests. A.J. Green will continue to miss time, while John Ross was recently placed on I.R. That will allow the Arizona defense to focus on Tyler Boyd, while Auden Tate continues his mini breakout. Over the last two weeks, Tate has posted 10 receptions for 138 yards on 16 targets. More importantly, he has seen three red zone targets this season, and he comes with touchdown potential that he has yet to truly flash. Tyler Eifert hasn’t found a ton of success in 2019, posting 11 receptions for 71 yards and 1 touchdown on 16 targets. With that being said, he leads the Bengals in red zone targets (4) this season. Arizona has also struggled against tight ends throughout the season, as they are giving up 6.8 receptions for 93.8 yards and 1.3 touchdowns on 8.3 targets per game to the opposing TE1. Eifert will be the least talented tight end they have faced, but he has always featured plenty of talent when healthy. Without Green or Ross in the lineup, Eifert could see a few extra targets, making him a top option on this slate.
High Upside GPP Stack
Kirk Cousins/Adam Thielen/Stefon Diggs
The Minnesota Vikings have featured a run-heavy offense through four weeks this season. They rank second last in the NFL, averaging only 169 passing yards per game. They have recorded only three passing touchdowns with two interceptions, as well. They get an elite matchup against the New York Giants, though, who are allowing 279.5 passing yards per game. The latter has also given up eight passing touchdowns, while recording five interceptions this season. The Vikings are -5.5 point favorites in a game set at 43.5 points, and they possess an implied team total of 24.5 points this week.
Kirk Cousins has been a huge disappointment in 2019, as he has scored fewer than 15 fantasy points in each of his first four games. He has totaled only 735 yards and 3 touchdowns on 99 pass attempts. Cousins gets arguably his best matchup of the year, though, as the Giants have struggled to stick with receivers this season. Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs have both been major disappointments, but they are the clear-cut top receiving options on the team. They have combined for 45.1% of the team’s targets, 40.6% of receptions, 52.8% of receiving yards, and 100% of receiving touchdowns. Diggs also owns a 14.4 aDOT, while Thielen enters this game with a 13.4 aDOT. This pair is a big play waiting to happen, and they’re likely to go overlooked in favor of Dalvin Cook this weekend. The Giants have proven time and time again, they have one of the worst secondaries in the NFL, and after Thielen publicly criticized Minnesota’s inability to get the ball downfield, I’m expecting them to take a few shots in this game.
