The Cheap Seats – NFL DFS Week 8

Oh, what a disappointing week for The Cheap Seats in Week 7!

When your three plays combined to score less than 10 points, it’s time to get back to the drawing board.

Indianapolis’ Trey Sermon started the game and played 52 percent of the snaps, but Tyler Goodson received more touches.

Kansas City’s Juju Smith-Schuster played just 7 snaps without recording a catch as a lingering hamstring injury ended his day.

Philadelphia relied on a heavy dose of Saquon Barkley, leaving tight end Grant Calcaterra a non-factor.

This week gives us several good options with a full schedule of games.

Onto this week’s The Cheap Seats!

Quarterback

Bo Nix, Denver ($5,600)

Nix gets the opportunity to face the bad Carolina defense.

The Panthers are the worst rush defense in the NFL and are also a bottom 10 pass defense.

Nix will not wow you with big passing stats as he’s only thrown for more than 216 yards once this season.

However, it is his legs that provides the DFS boost. He’s averaging 42.5 rushing yards a game this season.

Wide Receivers

Tampa Bay trio (Sterling Shepard $3,800, Jalen McMillan $3,700 and Trey Palmer $3,500)

Kalif Raymond, Detroit ($3,400)

Thanks to injuries to Mike Evans (hamstring – out until Week 11) and Chris Godwin (ankle – season-ending IR), Shepard, McMillan and Palmer will be Baker Mayfield’s WR corps until Week 11.

Picking the right one to start depends on how much salary you may have left since they are separated by $300.

Shepard has the experience, McMillan has the pedigree and Palmer is the most experience with the Bucs.

Raymond is the dark horse as Jameson Williams was suspended for two games for PEDs.

Raymond was starting to have a bigger role in the offense the last two weeks before Williams suspension. He has seen 10 targets in the last two games for 7 catches and 112 yards.

DK by the Numbers

Week 3

RB: Trey Sermon 5.9.

WR: Juju Smith-Schuster 0.

TE: Grant Calcaterra 1.5.
