Here are my SuperDraft’s Super Picks:
Quarterback
Jalen Hurts (1.8x)- An extremely tough matchup versus one of the elite defenses in the NFL. Regardless, Hurts is a dual threat quarterback that can get it done with his legs as well as his arm. The Eagles should be chasing in this game. He’ll be getting nearly double points for him, and that makes him someone I am very interested in.
Taysom Hill (1.5x)- He is what Jalen Hurts was last month. He is a dual threat quarterback as well, but the difference is that he has a great matchup against a terrible Eagles defense. Last week, Hill showed the ability to get it done through the air, so now we have seen flashes of his running and passing prowess. Both quarterbacks in this game are great options.
Tom Brady (1.3x)- I did not want to only write up quarterbacks with monster multipliers. Brady plays for a pass-happy coach and has a lot of weapons at his disposal to throw the ball to. He gets a 30% boost in his fantasy score. Although he does not have the mobile upside, he is very well known for the quarterback sneak at the one yard line to increase his ceiling. The G.O.A.T. can easily throw for multiple touchdowns and I think he will go overlooked for a multitude of reasons.
Fading Kyler Murray (1.05x)- There is absolutely no reason to take him at a next to nothing multiplier while he is boycotting running the football. It’s that simple. Not to mention, the New York Giants do not give up a lot of yards or points.
Running Back
J.D. McKissic (1.65x)- He gets targeted like a wide receiver. Although, Peyton Barber (1.85x) will likely be the workhorse and goal line back, there is no denying the number of passes McKissic should see from Alex Smith. If he is able to pile up yards after the catch, he will be a monster play with this multiplier.
Deandre Washington (1.9x)- I truly hope he sneaks under most people’s radars. I loved Miles Gaskin before he was ruled out. Salvon Ahmed and Matt Brieda are out also. Washington is playing against his former team and he has a massive multiplier. He has not done much this year, but if he gets a normal workload against this bad run defense, he could be a lot of fun to have.
Derrick Henry (1.05x)- This multiplier is pretty insignificant to me. I am interested in Henry because of a matchup against the awful Jacksonville Jaguars team. Henry is a true work horse back and he honestly has the highest upside of any running back on a week-to-week basis. He does not get passing work, so it makes him dependent on touchdowns. When he gets going, he goes. He can outscore any running back without the help of a multiplier.
Wide Receiver
Davante Adams(1x)- I am going to make this simple. This guy is absolutely amazing. He is the main guy that Aaron Rodgers trusts. When you combine that with him being arguably the best receiver in the league receiving passes from one of the best quarterbacks to ever do it, it gives him that potential to break a slate even without bonus points. The Lions are missing cornerbacks, so I really don’t know who will stop him.
Allen Robinson and Robby Anderson (1.4x) – I like both of these plays with the same multiplier. I like each of them for different reasons. Robinson is far and away the best receiver on his team. He finds a way to get open. When Mitchell Trubisky plays well, Robinson will find success. If you combine that with playing the awful Houston Texans defense, you get a very good play at a very good multiplier.
The Panthers will be depleted, not only with Christian McCaffery out, but D.J. Moore will be out as well. The Panthers have a condensed target tree, so I anticipate Anderson to soak up more than his usual share of targets. Although the Denver Broncos have a very stout defense, Anderson will get too much work to ignore.
Tight End
Mike Gesicki (1.55x)- Gesicki has a matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs will likely put up a lot of points, which means the Dolphins will have to throw. The Chiefs have shown some vulnerabilities against the tight end position and Gesicki has a great deal of talent. 1.55x is a very good multiplier for this spot.
Darren Waller (1.25x) – I am back to writing up one of the most talented tight ends in the NFL. Waller has a 25% bonus and I think that separates him from a lot of the other tight ends on this slate. Nothing new here. He has been one of my favorite tight ends, and you have seen his ability to break a slate.
