Every week I will be writing my favorite Yahoo! Cash plays for the week. I will provide a top cash play, a secondary cash play, and a GPP pivot. The format will be very similar to how I write the soccer Hat-Trick. I will try to not cite any stats, but if you want to know where I get my stats from check our proprietary NFL Data Dashboard @ DFSKarma.com. Quarterback
Top Cash Play: Is Lamar Jackson good? Back to back weeks he has crushed for the squad. While I am not afraid to go right back at him against KC, this week I prefer playing Kyler Murray for only $25! I can’t believe how cheap he is this week. Carolina has not looked good this season and now they get a back QB running point. Murray should have more running upside this week as well. I am not sure if I am stacking him with any of his pass catchers in cash, but I will definitely have a full AZ stack in GPPs.
Secondary Cash: If playing a rookie QB is not really your thing, Kyle Allen is only $20….. jk (even though I think he’s an amazing GPP play). A lot of players are very underpriced on Yahoo! and I do not mind paying up for the likes of Wentz or Aaron Rodgers.
Top GPP Play: This week I absolutely love Mason Rudolph in GPP’s. Him an Washington have an electric connection and then he should have help from Juju and McDonald. The 49ers defense has been completely overachieving and they are about to get exposed this weekend.
Running Back
Top Cash Play: Are we really going to play Frank Gore and McCoy in 2019? The short answer is yes… unfortunately. They both should get the majority of carries and for their price they are difficult to avoid. I doubt I will end up with both on my cash lineups but one is definitely likely.
Secondary Cash: If you just can’t imagine playing Gore and McCoy in 2019, I have zero issues with paying up $33 for Ezekiel Elliot. He, for some reason, is the third most expensive RB in the slate despite the best matchup in probably the history of the NFL. This is the week that we bring back the Ezekiel eating cereal .gif’s. Let’s do it.
Top GPP play: Alvin Kamara will be going from a 70% owned to a sub-5% owned play this week. People are afraid that what happened after Brees injury will occur for the upcoming weeks. Man I love recency bias. The coaching staff is not dumb and they know they’ll have to get their best players involved. I am expecting a huge Kamara week.
Wide Receiver
Top Cash Play: Keenan Allen $30 should be fairly popular across the industry. He saw 15! targets last week and they are definitely not a fluke. I have extremely high hopes for Allen this season and he is just getting started. I am not sure if he will get another 15, but double digit targets are almost a lock with crazy upside in a potential shootout.
Secondary Cash: With all the Eagles injuries, Nelson Agholor will probably be the most popular play on Sunday. While I absolutely love any fellow alumni of my alma matter, I am hesitant to play him in tons of GPPs. I prefer the upside of my top GPP play.
Top GPP play: How did Benjamin worked out last week? LOL. Definitely trolled us with a 0 but I forgot to write the caveat that I was only playing him if Mike Williams was out (which he was not [didn’t Williams look awesome?]). This week, no caveats. I am ALL IN on James Washington. He is free and he has crazy upside. Whenever Rudolph is on the field (including college), Washington has looked like a HoF WR. Stay in the bench Moncrief.
Tight End
Top Cash Play: Easy plug and play is Zach Ertz. If all pass catchers are out he is guaranteed to see double digit targets. Huge weeks ahead.
Secondary Cash: If you don’t believe in Ertz this week, you can go back to Engram who should do a lot better than last week. Man was I tilting hard last week.
Top GPP Play: With all of the value going on in this slate, it will be a good idea to pay up for Travis Kelce, and pair him up with Mahomes. Mahomes still owes him a huge night, three TDs are not out of the question.
For defense last week I was on the Patriots and that went reaaaaaaaaally well. This week I will be overexposed to the Chargers defense. While defenses suck in DFS and they are hard to predict, QB pressure is probably one of the best predictors for INT and Watson has been struggling this year. He’s been sacked the most in the league and things will probably continue with Tunsil Q. If Tunsil is out, I am all in here.
