Monday Night Football Showdown Throwdown -Nov 5th

Joey’s Monday Night Football Showdown Throwdown

Welcome back DFS squad. We have another addition of my Monday Night Football showdown article and we have an interesting Monday night game for it. The Dallas Cowboys and The Tennessee Titans in the beginning of the season seemed like a great matchup but they ended up being two bad teams. The addition of Amari Cooper may add a boost to this passing offense and make it a much better game. The game total is currently at a 40 point O/U and Dal is a 4.5 point favorite.

MVP/Studs

Ezekiel Elliot: He is my top play of the slate; the Cowboys rely on him a ton to get this offense going. I would assume they try to establish the run early to be able to get this passing attack flowing. He is second in the league in targets and 11th in targets before his bye last week. I would expect another high usage game from him here. TOP FD MVP Candidate

Amari Cooper: The Cowboys needed this trade badly they just couldn’t get their passing game going at all and Cooper provides the WR1 upside they were lacking. Yes, they paid a little too much for him but they were desperate for anything to get them going. Top DK CPT Candidate

Dak Prescott: Prescott finally has a receiver to throw to. He has a tough matchup going against the 8th most difficult team vs the QB but I think that number is a little off. They really haven’t been tested by many good QBs. Dallas should be fine here and his running floor may be able to get him to an elite scoring output here.

Marcus Mariota: I always consider both QBs in by player pool for single game slates. They provide you with the best floor out of all the plays especially rushing QBs like Mariota. As the cheapest QB on the primetime slate he could be perfect way to takedown a GPP on a budget.

Middle Tier

Dion Lewis: It seems like teams are having a lot of success targeting these LBs in the passing game. Vanderbilt Esch and Smith have given up the most reviewing yards on the team over the past 3 games. Dion Lewis has been heavily involved in the passing game and could be instore for a high volume game if they want to expose this matchup as teams have had success with.

Cole Beasley: Everyone will be all aboard the Amari Cooper train but don’t forget about Dak’s favorite target this year. He has a tough matchup tonight in the slot but that shouldn’t scare us away with the defense focused on Cooper; Beasley could fly under the radar in this spot.

TaJae Sharpe: Picking the right receiver in this offense is fought to decide. The Cowboys have been holding receivers to low yardages each game. One of these guys will have a good game but deciding between them will be a tall task. My favorite of the 3 is Sharpe. He saw the second most snaps on the team but saw a game high 9 targets. I love chasing volume over touchdowns so he is my favorite of the 3.

Defense/Kickers

Cowboys D provides great sack upside against Marcus Mariota who has been sacked just over 3 times a game. The Cowboys have struggled lately getting to the QB, but should be able to get a nice bounce back spot here. They are way too expensive on single game but they are priced nicely on primetime slate to be playable.

Kickers are always in my player pool. It appears they are way too expensive for my liking on FD but on DK I love them for great salary relief here.

Cheap Tier

Jonnu Smith: I mentioned earlier that I wanted to attack this team through the LBs. Jonnu Smith is running enough passing routes per game to pay off that salary. He hasn’t done a ton this season but the snaps and routes run make me believe he will be more involved in the offense than usual.
