Joey’s Thursday Night Football Showdown Throwdown

Hello DFS Grinders and Welcome back to another one of my Thursday Night Football Showdown Throwdown article. Tonight we have an interesting Thursday Night Football Showdown slate. We have a showdown between two of the top fantasy QBs over the past couple years. They have slowed down a little compared to years past but they are definitely the top two plays for raw points on the slate. It seems like there are a lot of differences in prices tonight and my lineups could be completely different. The Vegas line is currently at 49.5 and has Seattle is a 3 point favorite.

Studs/MVP Candidates

Aaron Rodgers: On paper it seems like the Seahawks are a very difficult QB matchup, but Rodgers should have no problem here. The only way that Rodgers doesn’t do well is if Aaron Jones gets all the TDs. The Seahawks D isn’t as good as it used to be, it may seem like it when the are the 2nd best team giving up fantasy points to QBs according to ESPN, but they haven’t been tested by a ton of talent. Rodgers should be able to get what ever he wants behind one  of the best offensive lines in the league.

Russell Wilson: He is the whole Offense and he needs to have a huge game to help the Seahawks. He has huge run upside. He has topped 20 points 4 straight games and he has really cut down on his turnovers like we saw last year and early in the season. If they allow Wilson to get going there will be no stopping him.

Davante Adams: He is the safest option if you are looking for expensive skill position plays. He is seeing a huge target share in this offense and against an easy matchup I could see him being the top scoring player on the slate. We could see him

Aaron Jones: I’m glad that Ty Montgomery is gone because it looks like the Packers have finally chose to unleash him. Since Montgomery has been gone Jones has seen back to back season high snap counts and touches. He has also been involved him the passing game seeing 4 and 5 targets the past 2 games. I could see him being a top contrarian play at MVP if you are trying to get creative.

Middle Tier

The difference in price between FD for Baldwin and Valdes-Scandling is crazy. I really want to play both of these guys on FD.

Doug Baldwin: He is just way to cheap on FD. He is the cheapest starter on the board skill position wise. He looks to be getting healthy now and right on schedule during the off season I saw reports that he wasn’t going to be 100% healthy until November and it’s November now and he is seeing huge snap numbers and targets have been there. I see no reason why he should be 8k tonight DK priced him correctly.

Marques Valdes-Scandling: He is also is way to cheap on FD. I really just want to play both of these guys. With Cobb out again MVS is basically as close to a lock as possible for me on FD. There is no reason that he should be this cheap. I feel like I’m repeating myself the same way as I said for Baldwin but these prices are crazy.

Jimmy Graham: Graham is coming off a rough game with only one target but I like the matchup. He should be able to see some miss matches against these LBs and Safety. He has seen high target shares with Cobb out but we could see a great game from him tonight.

Chris Carson: We have seen Carson take over this backfield until a set back a couple weeks ago. He has been taken off the injury report so I would expect him to take over running duties again. We saw him top 100 yards 3 times already this season and he looked to be on his way to another 100 yard rushing game against the Chargers before the injury. He’s extremely cheap on DK for the workload he could see tonight. On DK he seems like a must play but on FD he looks like e priced correctly.

Kickers/Defense

I’m not really looking at defenses in this game. the Packers have one of the best offensive lines in the league so I wouldn’t predict many sacks from the Seahawks and Rodgers doesn’t really turn the ball over so this is a defense I’m definitely looking to avoid. The Packers are coming off a great chalk performance against the Dolphins. If you are looking for a defense to play it would be the Packers. They are one of the better pass rushing teams in the NFL and the Seahawks have a poor O-line. If you are in need of salary relief I would look there.

I’ll keep it short and sweat kickers are always in play if you are looking for value. These guys are no more special than any other kicker on most slates. Also another note I wanted to add; I will be playing both kickers in this inverted single game mode on FD. They both have potential to bust if there are only TDs or a team happens to get shut out.

Cheap Tier

I’m really trying to fit Both QBs and as much of these studs as I can into the same lineup and this guy is the one that will help you get it done. I have been money on my cheap calls and I am hoping for another fire next to his name on DK. I hope this guy will help you win all the money tonight.

Nick Vannett: He has been seeing consistent targets every game with a peak of 8 targets against the Chargers. The price of 1.8k and the target’s he has seen, he could easily pay off the price. This is probably a DK only play for me because I would really want to find the salary to Baldwin who is 1k more.
