Welcome back DFS grinders to another edition of my Thursday Night Football Showdown Throwdown article. We have what is looking like a terrible game between the Patriots and the Giants. There is a 17 point spread so it’s looking like a potential first half blowout. Especially with all the injuries to the weapons on the Giants they might not even score. It is looking like the Giants will be without Engram, Barkley, Shepard, and Gallman so who is Danny Dimes going to throw to?
MVP Tier
Tom Brady: Even with the rain concerns Brady should still be the top scoring player on the slate. It’s just the safe way to go. He just gets the job done, year in and year out. He’s going up against a Giants defense that has been torched in the air. Dak and Winston both put up 380+, and Kirk showed that if he needs to get it done through the air he can; with over 300 yards.
Sony Michel: With the thunderstorm concerns Michel will see an increase in touches tonight as the Patriots will get out to an early lead and pound the run. Even with the success these teams have seen in the air the Giants are just as bad on the ground.
Fade: Daniel Jones; I normally like playing both QBs on showdown slates but it’s tough to play Danny dimes here. With all the offensive weapons out for the Giants it’s hard to see him hitting value at all. I love going under on him on prop sites for fantasy points.
Middle Tier
Josh Gordon: He is only $9.5 on FD this is the same situation as Kittle on Monday Night. He is just way too cheap to pass up in a great spot. He isn’t as cheap on DK so I’m locking him in on FD more than DK.
James White: Monitor the weather close up to lock but if the weather is bad we could see a lot of dump offs and screens to White to get the offense going. With Burkhead out white will see another high usage game I love him in the cpt spot tonight.
Patriots Defense: I don’t normally add defenses as part of my top plays but you really need to consider them in this matchup and you can even throw them in cpt if you are feeling up to it.
Cheap Tier
Jakobi Meyers: Phillip Dorsett is out for tonight’s game and Meyers will slide right into the starting job. There is definitely going to be one of those classic random Touchdowns by a WR for the Patriots and this is going to be that guy. Don’t get surprised by the touchdown get involved in the hype and play this cheap punt.
Cody Latimer: He’s the perfect run back on your Patriots stacks if you don’t want to waste money on any Giants Plays where the Patriots onslaught takes over.
