Joey’s Sunday Night Football Showdown Throwdown

Welcome Back DFS Grinders we have our last regular season Showdown Throwdown article. It was a fun season and I’m excited for playoff showdowns. Unfortunately we have another Titans showdown which is one of my least favorite teams to have the showdown. At least we have a game with a lot of playoffs implication in the wild card race.

Vegas Insight:  43.5 game total with the Colts are a 4.5 favorite.

Weather: Temperature in the low 50s with a chance of thunder storms later in the game starting around the second half.

Studs/MVP Candidates

Andrew Luck: Luck has a chance to to get back into the Playoffs and even against a tough Tennessee D he will be playing his best. He is the obvious top play of the day today if you are looking for safe play with huge upside. The titans are one of the better teams against the pass in the league but the Colts will need to heavily rely on Luck to win this game. Narrative: Luck needs 4 TDs to reach 40 TDs on the season.

Derrick Henry: It’s kills me to say this but he might be one of the top plays on the board. I haven’t gotten the Lewis vs Henry right. One of the reasons I hate Tennessee in prime time. Henry seems to have finally taken over the main running back role in Tennessee seeing over 50% of the backfield snaps in 2 straight games where before Lewis was gettingthe majority of the snaps. With no Mariota the Titans will need to rely on Henry for success in this game. Narrative: needs 34 more yards to reach 1000 rushing yards on the season.

Marlon Mack: The first game with their starting center back Mack ran for over 100 yards and 2 TDs against a pretty tough Dallas defense. Then the next game Mack struggled against an easy Giants run defense. So we can see how variable Mack is but in a must win game for the Colts will be on full throttle tonight. There should be positive game script for him as well with Mariota not playing the Colts should be in the lead for this game.

Middle Tier

Blaine Gabbert: I’m not a huge fan of this play but we get a QB at a cheaper price then normal. I like grabbing value on a guy I know who is going to touch the ball every play. His floor is there.

Dion Lewis: Lewis is the perfect low owned edge play to Henry. Everyone will be on Henry and he is for sure the better play, but if you are looking for the boom or bust correlation play to take away points from Henry as well he is your guy.

Kickers/Defenses

If you think Gabbert is going to struggle you can play the Colts D. We’ve seen the Colts D have a couple ceiling games this year and last time they played they scored 13 points. Against a back up QB the Colts may be able to feast tonight.

Cheap Tier

Tajae Sharpe: Sharpe has been dealing with an ankle injury for the past couple weeks but he seems to be healthy tonight for the game. Sharpe has been the Titans main slot guy and should be able to get some nice miss matches tonight and take advantage of this low salary.

Mo Alie-Cox: Ebron is questionable dealing with concussion Symptoms, but is optimistic to play. If he’s somehow out load up on Alie-Cox. The Colts throw to TEs more than any other team. He didn’t record a catch last game after Ebron went out but was the only other TE option on the field seeing 17 routes run. If Ebron plays he’s not as good of a play but can still be considered a punt at only $800.
