Joey’s Showdown Throwdown – MNF Week 7

Monday Night Football Showdown Breakdown

Studs/MVP

Saquan Barkley: PLAY THIS MAN!!! If you saw what Kareem Hunt did last night that’s nothing to what Barkley is about to do to the Falcons. They have been killed every game by running backs. Even Peyton Barber last week got 18 fantasy points. There’s no way to avoid him tonight, I would fade only in very large field GPPs. With all the injuries to the Falcons running backs have had their way with them.

Matt Ryan: Ryan Ryan has crazy home road splits. I’m only really a fan of playing him at home. He’s averaging 34.4 points at home and 12.6 on the road, the differences are crazy.

Julio Jones: Will this be the game he scores a touchdown? Even if he doesn’t he he’s catch and yard upside is great. Jenkins has been able to slow down number 1 WRs this season last week that changed with Jeffery killing them. Julio should have a nice game but touchdowns are very important in showdown slates. Now that Julio is off the main slate just seems like he will tilt DFS players by scoring his only TD this season on Monday night.

Eli Manning: I normally like the double QB route but Eli scares me a bit. I feel like a lot of the production for the giants will be from the ground.

Odell Beckham: He’s in line for a ton of targets this game against one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Don’t be surprised if he has that breakout game like he did against Carolina. This deadly slate routes will be in full effect tonight. He could take one to the house easily off one 10 yard catch these corners can’t tackle and OBJ lives off YAC.

Middle Tier

Evan Engram: He’s back which will bump down Shepard for me, but he’s coming backing into one of the best matchups for TEs in the league. I’m excited to exploit this matchup, Engram has been a full participant in practice this week so he should be in full go to destroy this defense.

Austin Hooper: Hooper has been extremely reliable seeing 10+ targets in 2 straight games. He’s going into a great matchup tonight against the giants, they haven’t really been tested by good TEs yet but Zach Ertz just tourched then last week. Ertz is much better than Hooper but with the target share Hoopers been seeming 100 yards isn’t out of the question

Calvin Ridley: This guy has been stealing all the touchdowns that Julio should have been getting. He doesn’t see a ton of snaps but if you want to chase the touchdowns on little targets he’s your guy. If he doesn’t see the endzone expect a little points.

Kickers/Defense

Defense will be hard to come by tonight in what should be a high scoring game. If you had to choose one I would pick the Falcons D. The Giants are a team I like to target because of the sack upside with that bad offensive line. If you are looking to be different then here’s a low owned play that could come up big.

Kickers: The kickers on both sides could be in play tonight. It seems like in these high total games the kickers are always in the perfect lineups. They are a great cheap option tonight to help you pay up for the studs. If I had to lean on only one I would pick it would be Giorgio Tavecchio. He might have some looks in the redzone with Matt Ryan not being able to connect with Julio there.

Cheap plays

Ito Smith: He keeps vulturing touchdowns. It’s 3 straight weeks now. I don’t like to chase touchdowns I prefer to chase volume but he is the redzone guy in this offense why not ride the wave. He’s cheap enough for you to take a chance on him but he is touchdown or bust.

Rhet Ellison: if you are looking for a TD or bust guy for cheap he’s playable. I like him as only a redzone threat that could grab end up with a one catch one touchdown game. If yo are looking for a value on DK he could be a diamond in the rough of not many cheap values.

With fully healthy teams and correct pricing tonight I don’t like many cheap options I would lean towards kickers for you value tonight.
