What’s up DFS Grinders to another edition of my Monday Night Showdown throwdown article. We have a fun divisional battle between the Jets at home taking on the Patriots.
Vegas Lines
The Patriots are currently 9 point favorites on the road against the Jets.
MVP Tier
Tom Brady: This is an obvious one. Brady is always the top play whenever he is in primetime. He currently has 5 out of his first six games this season scoring more than 20 fantasy points. The one dud, of course, came from the Bills who are one of the best defense against QBs in the league.
Julien Edelman: He will be fed another double digit targets again tonight if he plays. Edelman is basically the only good receiving option left to play on the Patriots. Except for the random no name guys that end up producing because Belichick is the goat. Edelman has seen double digit targets in 3 of his 6 games so far this season including 15 last game with a depleted WR corps. The volume will be there it will be up to Edelman to break through his ceiling.
Leveon Bell: Bell has become the highest used player on this offense. If you are looking for a safe consistent play on the Jets side of the ball to stack the Patriots yes he’s expensive but he’s you guy. He has the highest TD upside on the team. The Patriots aren’t allowing much out of the air so you have to look to the ground game and dump off game to Bell to produce anything tonight. His catch ceiling is what I’m looking at here. Game script won’t be on his side for rushing yards but I could easily see the Jets getting nothing going and rely on getting a Bell into open space to get something going.
Middle Tier
James White: He might end up being the number 1 receiving option tonight if Edelman misses. There is no way White isn’t fed the ball 10 times if they are missing everyone. It is also hard to double him coming out of the backfield he will have LBs on him as well. He will end up being my favorite CPT tonight on DK. He is also a lock I can’t pass up on FD at only $10k that ridiculously underpriced even with only half-point PPR.
Jamison Crowder: Let’s not forget about Darnold favorite WR this season. In the two games he had played Crowder has 26 targets and 20 catches. His aDOT (5.5) is low but the volume is very nice. The matchup is tough but all matchups for the Jets are tough across the board. We are going with the under priced volume play.
Cheap Tier
This is going to be a crazy showdown. With all the injuries to the Patriots you just know a no named player is going to score a TD tonight that’s just a given, but who you may ask is it? Let’s dive into that subject and see.
Jakobi Meyers: Meyers might end up being their number 1 WR if Edelman misses. I still like this play if Edelman is in. Yes he’s a little expensive but he’s second on the team in air yards and targets. Should have a big role tonight.
Demaryius Thomas: Possible revenge game you say? Well, I’m ready if you are. He is coming off two back to back 4 catch games with a 9 target game sprinkled in there. This isn’t the sexiest play but I’m a sucker for revenge narratives. He was traded to the Jets in order to make room for Antonio Brown who isn’t even on the team anymore. He even called his time with the Patriots “A waste of time”, oh bot the narrative street we got going on tonight. If the matchup wasn’t so tough I would be as they say in the poker community, ALL IN.
Brandin Bolden: Ugh why are the Pats making me writing about him. Bolden has trolled 3 weeks in a row with TDs. Bolden has made a career of this and with all the injuries he could end up trolling again. I really don’t want to play him but if you are feeling crazy throw him in a lineup. He is seeing 5-6 valuable touches a game with Sexy Rexy out and could troll again. PAtriots love just having random players score.
Defenses and Kickers
Patriots D: The Patriots are making me add this section because I’ll look like an idiot if I don’t tell you to at least consider the Patriots Defense that ha been one of the highest-scoring defenses in the league. I assume all of you know that unless you have been living under a rock. Especially with all the injuries to the Patriots offense, they will rely on even heavier tonight.

Props are what I’m known for at Karma and I’ve made my most money in the Fantasy industry playing props. It’s a safer use of your money playing “cash” type props than playing 50/50s on FD/DK for single game especially. Normally I like to play some safe props than play some GPPs on FD/DK.
