Welcome back DFS grinders to another edition of my Monday Night Football Showdown Throwdown article. Tonight’s game features Goff on the home against one of the best defenses in the league. It could turn into a blowout as the Ravens try to chase the Patriots for the number 1 seed in the AFC. These primetime games have been ugly low scoring affairs and don’t be surprised if that happens again.
Vegas Odds
Ravens are 4 point favorites on the road against the Rams with a game total of 47. I would suggest hammering the Ravens spread.
Studs
Lamar Jackson: He’s someone you just have to play if he’s on a showdown slate I don’t care. He’s been the best fantasy QB this whole year and no one has figured out a way to stop him. You are getting a top QB plus RB1 upside. Since week 2 Jackson is 7th in rushing yards and 5th in rushing TDs as a Quarterback. Those are insane numbers. He’s like the McCaffrey of quartersbacks and tough to fade in this spot.
Mark Ingram: This could be a Ravens onslaught tonight so I want exposure to the RB for game script purposes. It’s only a 4 point spread but I love the Ravens in this one and with the favorites come the running back points. He doesn’t see that workhorse load that that a lot of these teams give their running backs with the snap share and the wins the Ravens have, but that is because Jackson also gets RB1 numbers. This one two punch is going to be extremely effective tonight and I love running Jackson at the MVP and Ingram in the flex.
Cooper Kupp: He might be one of the only players from the Rams I roster tonight. The Ravens defense is looking amazing again, one main reason is they are fully healthy. Kupp has the best matchup of the 3 WRs on the Rams and with cooks back that should draw attention away from Kupp where he has struggled the past two games without a fully healthy WRs by his side.
Favorite Flex
Ravens Defense: This is obviously a DK only play but I love the Ravens tonight. Goff has struggled this year and with the Ravens defense being fully healthy now they should be able to easily take care of business tonight. Goff is bottom 5 in turnovers and has one of the worst adjusted completion rates in the league. He will be playing from behind as well which will lead to more forced throws and interceptions.
Brandon Cooks: He is way too cheap for the upside he provides and upside is all I really care about in showdowns. Cooks is the definition of boom or bust with little floor. He’s been more busy then boom this year with the way Goff has been playing he hasn’t been able to connect on the deep ball enough for him. The air yards are there and if the Rams are able to connect down field with Cooks he could be instore for a big game. Especially with the projected negative game script the Rams will look to get the deep ball going tonight. He’s been inactive for the past couple weeks so you should be able to get him as a low owned leverage play tonight.
Mark Andrews: If you are pairing Jackson with only one guy tonight I would pair him with his favorite receiving option. You can definitely run naked Jackson because of his tremendous rushing upside. Andrews is Jackson’s favorite target commanding a 25% target share which is one of the tops in the league for TEs.
There are a lot of other options for your flex plays but these are my top 3 to help you fill out your lineups.
