RB Mike Davis vs. Washington Football Team

From mid-round fantasy darling to a back-end RB2, Mike Davis’ fantasy prospects have rapidly gone downhill from the preseason until now. Once thought to be a lock for 80%+ of his backfield’s touches, Davis has now been split into a committee with none other than Cordarrelle Patterson, the guy who entered the league as a wide receiver. With Davis ceding touches to Patterson and in a tough matchup against the Washington Football Team, who are allowing the 7th fewest fantasy points to the opposing team’s running backs, he is firmly on my bench this week.

RB Damien Harris vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

While Harris is only the RB35 in Full-PPR through 3 games, I’m sure some of you will be desperate enough to try and start him this week. I am highly advising not to start Damien Harris if you can help it. Not only is Harris TD-dependent with his lack of work in the passing game, but he also draws a tough matchup with Tampa Bay, who allows the 10th fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs. The Patriots should be in a negative game script since they’re facing the potent Buccaneers offense, so I could easily see Harris get game-scripted out of fantasy relevance early on.

RB Leonard Fournette vs. New England Patriots

I just mentioned what’s likely to be a negative game script for the New England offense, which implies a positive game script for Tampa Bay; but even with a positive game script, I’m not loving the fantasy prospects of Leonard Fournette this week. New England is giving up the 9th fewest fantasy points to the opposing team’s running backs. While Fournette has led the backfield in terms of carries, I don’t trust Bruce Arians to stick to a consistent running back gameplan. I could easily see Giovani Bernard being much more involved in this game, as I think Brady and the Buccaneers are going to try and put up as many yards and points against his former team as possible.
