Slate Thoughts:

  • This week we have many exciting games on deck, but the one that stands out the most to me is the matchup between Memphis and UCF.  I expect that this game will garner high ownership, and rightfully so.  One of the first things I noticed when I looked at the pricing on this slate, is the horrible pricing of the Memphis Tigers.  Damonte Coxie is only 6100 this week, and I am not sure why.  At that price, he is a near lock for me in cash games this week.  C. Austin III is another talented pass catcher for Memphis, and he is only listed at 4800.  Both he and Coxie are priced too low on this slate.  Both of these teams play fast, and play very little defense.  I expect the over to hit in this game and there will be an abundance of fantasy points scored.
  • Memphis has really struggled vs. the pass this year, which makes Gabriel a really strong play this weekend.  He is priced pretty high this week, but in this game environment I expect him to easily hit value.  I like pairing him with one of his receivers, whether it be Marlon Williams, Jaylon Robinson or Tre Nixon (if he is healthy this week).  If Tre Nixon is a go this week, he is the strongest play of the three at his current price.
  • Ole Miss played Alabama last week, and they looked phenomenal on the offensive side of the ball.  This week they will be taking on Arkansas.  Arkansas have played much better than expected this year, but I do not believe they have what it takes to slow this high octane offense down.  Matt Corral has had a great start to this season, and has played like one of the best quarterbacks in this conference.  Corral is one of my favorite quarterbacks on this slate, and I will be stacking him and Moore in my main GPP line.  Moore is the highest priced receiver on this slate, but still is a great play.  He has averaged over 12 targets per game, and I do not see this slowing down any time soon.  Corral looks his way often, and I could see him finding plenty of holes in these zone defenses that Arkansas likes to employ.  Both of these teams play extremely fast, and this game could rival Memphis vs. UCF in terms of points scored.
  • On the other side of this game, we have one of my favorite deep gpp targets, Arkansas.  Arkansas plays fast with Morris as their new OC.  Felipe Franks has not particularly looked good, but there are a few skill position options that make sense this weekend.  My favorite plays from this game in order are Treylon Bruks (if healthy), Mike Woods and Rakeem Boyd.  All of these players are priced to low, especially since they will be facing one of the worst defenses in the country.  We should be able to get Arkansas at very low ownership this week.
  • Two guys I want to finish with are Kyren Williams of ND and Leddie Brown of WVU.  Both of theses guys are in about as good of a spot you could get as a running back.  Leddie Brown comes in at $8200 and Williams at $7200.  I think in cash it makes sense to save the thousand dollars in salary and play Williams vs. a very poor Louisville run defense, but in tournaments I would pay up to Brown.  I think Brown may come in at lower ownership due to him being that much more of a cost compared to Williams.  Brown will be facing a Kansas defense that has allowed over 200 rush yards per game this year.  Leddie Brown sees a ton of opportunities and I think could end up being the highest scoring fantasy player on the slate.  If you wanted to pay the extra $1000 and play him in cash games, I would not try and talk you out of that; he is in a great spot this weekend!
  • Cash games this week should be pretty chalky with the bad pricing of Memphis. There are a few different places that we can get off of the chalk, and take advantages of some players that are in just as good a spot as Memphis.
