Bear’s Top CFB Plays 12/21/19

Top Games to Target:

LIB  vs. GSOU (-4)   O/U: 58

SMU (-8)  vs.  FAU  O/U  64.5

FIU @ ARKST (-2)   O/U  60.5

Top Tier Plays:

QB: Shane Buechele (SMU): FD 10,500  DK 7,700

Bueschele is playing in my favorite game on the slate.  FAU vs. SMU should be an absolute shootout.  I think this game has a chance to go over their projection of 64.5.  FAU is allowing over  7 yards per completion this year and allowing over 235 yards per game through the air.  I think that Buechele can and will have a big game this week, and with the ample amount of value that we have on this slate he is very easy to fit in your lineups.

RB: Anthony Jones (Ark St.):  FD 7,900  DK 5,500

Jones gets the best match-up on the entire slate this week.  Jones will be facing a Arkansas State defense that is allowing over 220 rush yards per game.  Jones averages roughly 15 carries per game, but when he has faced defenses ranked below 90th in rushing yards allowed his carries have been north of 15.  Jones has had a rough last couple of weeks, but this is the week that he should get back to form and absolutely crush his value.  Jones make for an extremely strong play on both sites and in all formats.

WR: James Proche (SMU):  FD 9,500   DK 7,900

I think a great way to start your cash builds this week is getting both Buechele and Proche in your lineups.  I think that combo could account of 60+ FPS this week.  Proche is a target monster and if Roberson is out again this week, his target share will stay extremely high.  Even if Roberson returns, Proche has shown that he will still receive plenty of targets and does not need many targets to have big games.  Proche has the safest floor of any WR on the slate, and arguably has the highest ceiling of any WR on this slate.  Get him in your lineups.

Mid Tier/ Value Tier:

QB: Chris Robison (FAU):  FD 8,300  7,300

I will stick with my favorite game on the slate here for my Mid tier play.  I like Robison this week, a little less now that his top 3 pass catchers are out of the game, but no less I think he still makes for a good play on FD in particular.   I think he is priced too high on DK, but I will definitely be considering him on FD.  SMU allows a slate high 285 pass yards per game and allow 2.6 passing touchdowns per game.  I think that Robison and FAU (with Charlie Wies Jr. calling plays and running the show) will find a way to be successful and keep this game interesting.

RB: Marcel Murray (Ark State):  FD 7,600  DK 5,500

Marcel Murray, according to his coach, has looked really good in practice over the last week and his coach believes he is ready to contribute in a big way this week.   Murray will be facing an FIU defense that is allowing over 200 rush yards per game.  FIU surprisingly has a decent pass defense which leads me to believe that Arkansas State will lean more on the run, opening up more opportunities for Murray.  Murray can be used in both Cash and tournaments this week.

WR: John Mitchell (FAU): FD 5,800  DK 4,900

So, FAU is going to be with out their top 3 pass catchers on Saturday.  Bryant, Antoine and Harrison have all been ruled out for Saturdays game.  Robison is going to throw the ball to someone and that someone that I think steps up for FAU is John Mitchell.  For his very low price on both sites I think he makes for a very strong value play.  Another FAU receiver you could consider is Wille Wright.  Wright is also very cheap and could see his role in the offense expand due to the big time injuries to the FAU wide receiver group.
