Bear’s top CFB plays 10/5/2019

Week 6

Top Games to target:

Oklahoma State (-10) @ Texas Tech : O/U 63.5

Utah State @ LSU (-27.5):  O/U 73

Oklahoma (-35) @ Kansas:  O/U 68

Texas (-11) @ West Virginia:  O/U 62

Top Tier:

QB: Jalen Hurts (Oklahoma):  FD 11500  DK 9300

Ok Hurts is starting to get expensive, but rightfully so.  He has been playing at an elite level and I do not see that changing anytime soon.  He has been destroying teams with his legs.  This week he gets to face a Kansas defense that ranks towards the bottom in the NCAA in rush defense.  Oklahoma is obviously going to make quick work out of them, but Hurts will be the reason they do.  Hurts is a must play in cash with his high floor and elite ceiling he possesses.  Don’t overthink this one.  Start your cash build on both FD and DK with Hurts.

QB: Joe Burrow (LSU) FD 10800 DK 8700

Absolutely love Burrow this week.  He gets to face a very vulnerable Utah State defense that allows over 300 yards per game through the air.  He has been playing at an elite level this year and I expect that to continue this week.  I honestly believe he has a chance to hang with Hurts this week in terms of fantasy points.  On FD in my cash games I will be pairing Burrow and Hurts together and filling the rest out from there.  Get those Tigers in your lineups, they are going to smash Utah State.  Burrow, Jefferson and Chase are a great stack this week.

Others to consider: S. Ehlinger (TEX); S. Clifford (PSU); Justin Fields (OSU)

RB: Chuba Hubbard (Oklahoma State):  FD 10600  DK 8900

Hubbard is the clear top RB play on the board this week.  Hubbard is on the short list for Heisman winners right now and rightfully so.  Hubbard on the season has 938 rush yards through only 5 game, while also averaging over 7 yards per carry.   Hubbard also has 10 rushing touchdowns through 5 games this year.  Texas Tech is not a very good team, and we just watched Oklahoma run all over them last week.  Texas Tech is allowing over 200 rush yards per game this year.  I expect another big game here from Hubbard; 200 rush yards and multiple touchdowns is not out of the question.  It will be hard to fit both him and Hurts together in lineups, but if enough value opens up, I will have both in my lineup.

Others to consider:  D’Andre Swift (UGA); Keaontay Ingram (TEX); AJ Dillon (BC)- DK Only

WR: Ja’Marr Chase (LSU):  FD 9900  DK 7000

I love LSU this week, especially the passing game of LSU.  LSU will be facing off against Utah State this weekend, a Utah State team that is allowing over 300 yards through the air on the year.  Joe Burrow and company have looked elite so far this year, and I see that trend continuing this week.  Chase and Burrow are really starting to develop some good chemistry with one another and that showed in their last game vs. Vanderbilt.  I love stacking Burrow, Chase, Jefferson and Dillon (value guy) together in tourneys.  I think they have a chance to be the highest scoring offense, in terms of fantasy, on the slate.

Others to consider:  Ceedee Lamb (OKLA);  Devin Duvernay (TEX);  Tylan Wallace (OKST)

Mid Tier:

QB: Spencer Sanders (Oklahoma State):  FD 9700  Dk 7600

With an O/U set at 64, I think Sanders makes for a great play on this slate.  Oklahoma State will be playing Texas Tech this weekend.  Texas Tech, on the season, has allowed over 200 yards per game rushing and over 250 yards per game passing.  Duel threat quarterback Jalen Hurts just showed you what can be done vs. this Texas Tech defense.  Now, Sanders gets his chance to expose Texas Tech through the air and on the ground.  I believe Sanders has a great floor th is week and an amazing ceiling.  I love pairing Sanders with Hubbard and Wallace this week.  Sanders should smash in this spot and I will be overweight on the Oklahoma State offense.

Others to consider: Quentin Harris (DUKE); Pass or Cunningham (Louisville) – DK only ; T. Morgan (MINN) DK *Favorite Value QB

RB: Pooka Williams Jr. (Kansas):  FD 8100  DK 6000

I’ve debated this play here, but with his increased volume I think he makes for a fine play, especially on FD.  Herbert has left the Kansas program, opening up around 12-15 extra opportunities for Pooka.  On the season Williams is averaging 5 ypc on 67 attempts.  This game will actually end up being a negative game script for him due to them being down by so much, but he should still see enough opportunities, being the only capable back for Kansas.  He should see a slight increase in the passing game as well.  Oklahoma, as good as they are on offense, are pretty poor on the defensive side of the ball.  On the year Oklahoma is giving up over 180 yards per game on the ground to opponents.  With the uptick in opportunities for Williams I will definitely consider him on FD more so than DK.

Others to consider: Deejay Dallas (MIA); Trey Sermon (Oklahoma)

WR: Charleston Rambo (Oklahoma):  FD 8800  DK 6600

Getting as many pieces of this high powered Oklahoma offense in your lineups seems to be a weekly trend.  I will continue that trend here.  Rambo is an explosive athlete and can take the top off of a defense.  Last week he started out on fire, and all of the sudden the targets started being funneled to Ceedee Lamb.  Rambo still hit value and he only needs a few explosive plays to do so this week.  The only concern I have playing Rambo and Ceedee this week is that Kansas’ rush defense is one of the worst in college football, so I could see Hurts, Brooks and Sermon having huge days leaving the WR’s out of the mix.  With that said,  I will still be looking to get Rambo and Lamb in my lineups if possible.

Others to consider: KJ Hamler (PSU),  C. Atwell (Louisville)-DK Only

Value:

WR: Derrick Dillon (LSU):  FD 6300 DK 3700

Terrace Marshall Jr. is going to be out for the LSU tigers which opens up a few targets for Derrick Dillon.  On a slate with so many studs that we are going to want in our lineups, we need to find value.  Dillon is playing in one of the best offenses and in one of the best environments for wide receivers.   Dillons role should expand this week and every week going forward until Marshal is ready to return.

WR:  George Pickens (UGA):  FD 5500

I wrote up Pickens a few weeks ago as a value play and quite frankly let us down in a big way.  Coach Smart has gone on record since that day saying that they have to find ways to get him more involved in the offense and get him the ball.  He also said he is their best play maker on the offensive side of the ball, which is saying a lot when you have D’Andre swift in the backfield.  At his low price on FD I will be taking a shot on Pickens in tourneys.  UGA is facing Tennessee, and lets face it, they are AWFUL!  Their defense has given up huge amounts of yards and points this year and I can see Pickens finding his way into the end zone this weekend.  Another UGA receiver I have a small amount of interest in is Dominick Blaylock.

Gpp only plays: QB Jarren Williams, QB Jordan Love,
