Friday’s Slate:
- Virginia @ Miami (-2.5) O/U 44.5
- Colorado St. (-3.5) @ New Mexico O/U 65.5
- Colorado @ Oregon (-21) O/U 57.5
Top Plays
QB: Justin Herbert (ORE) FD 10,000 DK 7,400
Justin Herbert is one of the best quarterbacks in the nation and he gets a match up at home vs. a very poor Colorado defense. Colorado is giving up over 310 yards per game through the air and another 158 yards per game on the ground. Colorado has allowed 32 points per game this year. Oregon’s offense is averaging 34 points per game and over 400 yards per game. Oregon is heavy favorites in this match up, so things could get out of hand pretty quickly. Herbert should be able to produce a good stat line for us, even if the game is a blowout. If I am playing cash on this small slate, I am starting my lineup builds with Herbert.
RB: CJ Verdell (ORE) FD 8,100 DK 6,000
I will stay with the Oregon theme here. Like I mentioned above, Colorado has really struggled defensively this year. They have allowed almost 160 rush yards per game. I expect Oregon to get Verdell involved early and often. Verdell also has the pleasure of running behind one of the top offensive lines in the country. They will be able to take advantage of a poor Colorado defensive front and create massive holes for him to run through. At his price on FD, I consider Verdell a very strong play. Starting cash lineups with Herbert and Verdell is a very optimal way to go. *Note: We need to keep an eye on Verdell’s injury going into Friday night and make sure he will not be a late scratch. All of this info will be updated for members in Discord.
WR: Warren Jackson (CSU) FD 9,300 DK6,800
I REALLY REALLY hope that Jackson gets to play in this game. New Mexico is absolutely horrible vs the pass. The New Mexico defense is giving up over 370 yards per game through the air. They have been absolutely dismantled by opposing teams passing attacks. He is a stud wide receiver who has 52 targets so far on the year and that is with him missing the last two games. Their is no way that New Mexico is going to be able to stop him if he plays in this match up. This game has the highest O/U on the slate and I want as much of the Colorado State passing game that I can get. Their will be absolutely zero defense played in this game and stacking this game may be the best route to go. If Warren Jackson does not play, look to Dante Wright, who is averaging 8.3 targets per game, to get the majority of the targets and he becomes an extremely strong play on this slate. Nate Craig-Myers is someone to consider as well. Craig-Myers has averaged 6.3 targets per game this year though he has not seen much time with Jackson on the field. With CSU averaging around 40 pass attempts per game their is plenty of targets to go around.
RB: Ahmari Davis (UNM): FD 7,900 DK 5,800
Ahmari Davis has one of the best match ups on the slate. Colorado State is allowing nearly 250 rushing yards per game. They have failed to prove they can to stop anyone’s rushing attack. Due to Colorado States inability to stop the run I really like Davis in both cash games and tourneys. Davis is a high volume RB averaging nearly 20 attempts per game and around 5 yards per carry. Again, I believe this game is going to be high scoring, with both teams allowing over 40 points per game. You need to make sure you get some pieces of this game in your lineups.
Other Plays to Consider:
- QB: Bryce Perkins (UVA)
We just saw what Hooker from VT did to this Miami defense, which was hit on short passes and create with his legs. Both of these things is what Perkins can excel at. Miami’s secondary is what you want to target in this game and because of how poorly they are playing I think Perkins has a pretty decent game. O’Brien is someone to consider paying down for as well. He is in a high scoring environment and should be airing the ball out all night.
- QB: N’Kosi Perry (MIA)
Perry is going to start for the Hurricanes, he is a very good value play on this slate. Perry has the ability to rush the ball, as well as put up big numbers through the air. Playing him at his discounted price opens up plenty of salary to get the stud wide receivers on the slate.
- RB: Marvin Kinsey Jr. (CSU)
If he is healthy he should see a heavy dose of carries vs. a very very bad New Mexico defense. He has had a few big games this season and I could easily see him producing a stat line around 20 carries for 150 yards and a couple of touchdowns. This is a fantastic match up for the entire Colorado State offense.
- TE: Brevin Jordan (MIA)
Jordan has been very good for the Hurricanes this season, and has saw his targets increase. He really excelled last week once Miami made the change at QB. Now that Perry is confirmed to be the starting quarterback for Miami this week I like Jordan even more.
Also in play: WR Hasise Dubois (UVA); WR Jaylon Redd (ORE); WR Tony Brown (CU)
