This is a tough matchup for the Green Bay Packers offense, as they’ll be playing one of the best defenses in the NFL on the road. With that being said, Davante Adams is an elite receiver, who is essentially matchup proof. In two games against the Chicago Bears last season, Adams posted 13 receptions for 207 yards and 1 touchdown on 21 targets. He also scored more than 18.8 fantasy points in each of those games. Adams needed only eight targets, while playing part of the game with Aaron Rodgers to top that total in their first game last season. He saw double-digit targets in each of his final four games of the season, though. There have been reports of Adams sliding into the slot in Green Bay’s new look offense, making him that much more dangerous. I expect the Packers to make it a point to feed Adams targets, and we get him at a discount because of the matchup.
Allen Robinson is an interesting option. He was set to be the focal point of the Chicago offense, but that wasn’t the case in 2018. He saw only two games with double-digit targets, including the playoffs. In two games against Green Bay, he recorded only 7 receptions for 115 yards on 14 targets. He wasn’t able to reach this total in either of those games. Robinson moves around the Chicago offense, but he’ll spend the majority of the game against either Jaire Alexander or Kevin King, who are both young cornerbacks, who could take another step forward in 2019. Furthermore, Green Bay added pass rushers in the offseason, making their defense a bit more dangerous than last year. If the Packers can keep Robinson out of the end zone, he’s likely to hit the under with this total.
