Important Notes

The most important note for StatHero is their scoring system. It’s different from what you’re likely used to, and we need to note what the most important aspects are. Quarterbacks are far and away the most important position, specifically passing yards. They get 0.05 fantasy points for every 1 passing yard compared to only 0.1 fantasy points per 1 rushing or receiving yard. For instance, a quarterback would receive 15 fantasy points for 300 yards passing. He would need 3.75 passing touchdowns to reach that. Running backs and receivers would need 1,50 yards to hit that number. They would need 2.5 touchdowns to score 15 fantasy points.

Tight ends are another major part of their scoring. They will receive 1.5 fantasy points per reception, while running backs and wide receivers only receive 1 fantasy point per reception. With StatHero’s current scoring system, it could be a key to stack a team with a dominant quarterback and tight end pairing to go along with the other options on the offense.

The final scoring that could make or break your lineup is the distance bonus. Quarterbacks receive a slightly smaller bonus for long passing touchdowns, while running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends get a bit more of a bonus for touchdowns. Ultimately, you want touchdowns to come from 10+ yards out, which is the distance the bonus’ start at.

Seattle Seahawks

Russell Wilson/Tyler Lockett/DK Metcalf

Russell Wilson flopped last week, but I’m going back to the well here. Even with his struggles last week, he’s averaging 265.9 yards and 2.1 touchdowns on 31.3 pass attempts per game. Wilson has also added 182 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground this season. He gets an elite matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are allowing the second most passing yards (285.9) per game this season. They have also given up 14 passing touchdowns in 2019. Wilson is in an elite bounce back spot, as Tampa Bay has been the best run defense in the NFL this season.

Tyler Lockett has seen a surprisingly low amount of volume for how well he has played. Through 8 games, he has posted 46 receptions for 615 yards and 4 touchdowns on only 54 targets. Lockett has been consistent, though, as he has posted 75+ receiving yards or 1 receiving touchdown in 7 of his 8 games. He has seen 603 air yards this season, while posting an 11.2 aDOT. Most importantly, Lockett ranks second on the team in red zone targets (9). He has turned those into a team-high 6 receptions for 58 yards and 3 touchdowns. Lockett is a safe option to stack with Wilson, but he also comes with tremendous upside that he has only truly flashed once this season.

D.K. Metcalf hasn’t seen the same efficiency as Lockett throughout his rookie campaign. Metcalf has turned 45 targets into 23 receptions for 402 yards and 4 touchdowns through 8 games. With that being said, he has seen 622 air yards, while boasting an impressive 13.8 aDOT. Metcalf is also a fixture in the Seattle red zone, as he boasts a team-high 11 red zone targets in 2019. He has only turned those into two receptions for six yards and two touchdowns, but the upside is obvious. Metcalf is coming off of a two-touchdown performance against the Atlanta Falcons, and he adds tremendous upside to this stack.

Oakland Raiders

Derek Carr/Josh Jacobs/Darren Waller

Derek Carr has seen plenty of ups and downs throughout the 2019 season. He’s averaging 242.1 yards and 1.6 touchdowns on 31.3 pass attempts per game through 7 starts. He has been heating up recently, though, throwing for 578 yards and 5 touchdowns over his last 2 games. Most importantly, he gets a matchup against the Detroit Lions. Detroit is allowing a league-high 289.7 passing yards per game. They have also given up 14 passing touchdowns, while recording only 3 interceptions. Carr quietly comes with upside on this slate.

Josh Jacobs also gets a plus matchup this week. The Lions have struggled against the pass, but they are also giving up 130.7 rushing yards per game. Detroit has allowed seven rushing touchdowns in 2019, as well. Jacobs has seen his role grow over his last four games. Over that span, he’s averaging 98 yards and 0.5 touchdowns on 19.8 carries per game. Jacobs has seen 10 targets in those games, turning those into 10 receptions for 74 yards. He is the top red zone running back, as he has seen 72.4% of Oakland’s red zone carries this season. Utilizing Carr and Jacobs nearly guarantees getting the Raiders touchdowns in fantasy this week.

The leading receiver for the Raiders is Darren Waller, who will get a bonus for being a tight end. Through 7 games, he has posted 46 receptions for 496 yards and 3 touchdowns on 58 targets. He has only seen 382 air yards with a 6.6 aDOT, but that has kept him an efficient player. Waller has seen a team-high 7 red zone targets this season, recording 6 receptions for 46 yards and 3 touchdowns. He’s one of the best options on StatHero because of the 1.5 PPR scoring for tight ends, making him a must start in an Oakland stack.

Detroit Lions

Matthew Stafford/Kenny Golladay/Danny Amendola

Matthew Stafford gets a great matchup against the Oakland Raiders this week. They are allowing the third most passing yards (285.3) per game in the NFL this season. The Raiders have also given up 19 passing touchdowns, while recording only 3 interceptions this season. Stafford has continued to play at a high level through seven starts. He’s averaging 299 yards and 2.3 touchdowns on 35.7 pass attempts per game this season. The Detroit Lions are small underdogs in this game, meaning Stafford could throw from the start to the end of this game, adding to his overall upside.

Kenny Golladay has been the top option for the Lions this season. He has seen 55 targets, turning those into 31 receptions for 508 yards and 6 touchdowns. Golladay has posted 848 air yards with a 15.4 aDOT this season. He has scored 20+ fantasy points in 4 of his 7 games. Golladay has seen 9 red zone targets this season, posting 5 receptions for 39 yards and 4 touchdowns. He’ll continue to be an elite touchdown threat, specifically in a great matchup this weekend.

Danny Amendola recorded 7 receptions for 104 yards and 1 touchdown in his first game with Detroit. He then struggled in three games, seeing only seven targets. Over his last two weeks, he has posted 16 receptions for 200 yards on 19 targets. He only owns 346 air yards with an 8.9 aDOT, which increases his efficiency, but lowers his upside a bit. Amendola quietly owns four red zone targets, but he has yet to score a touchdown. He gets a great matchup, and can be used in a Detroit stack this weekend.
