Important Notes

The most important note for StatHero is their scoring system. It’s different from what you’re likely used to, and we need to note what the most important aspects are. Quarterbacks are far and away the most important position, specifically passing yards. They get 0.05 fantasy points for every 1 passing yard compared to only 0.1 fantasy points per 1 rushing or receiving yard. For instance, a quarterback would receive 15 fantasy points for 300 yards passing. He would need 3.75 passing touchdowns to reach that. Running backs and receivers would need 1,50 yards to hit that number. They would need 2.5 touchdowns to score 15 fantasy points.

Tight ends are another major part of their scoring. They will receive 1.5 fantasy points per reception, while running backs and wide receivers only receive 1 fantasy point per reception. With StatHero’s current scoring system, it could be a key to stack a team with a dominant quarterback and tight end pairing to go along with the other options on the offense.

The final scoring that could make or break your lineup is the distance bonus. Quarterbacks receive a slightly smaller bonus for long passing touchdowns, while running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends get a bit more of a bonus for touchdowns. Ultimately, you want touchdowns to come from 10+ yards out, which is the distance the bonus’ start at.

Seattle Seahawks

Russell Wilson/Chris Carson/Tyler Lockett

Russell Wilson has looked outstanding this season, averaging 277.9 passing yards per game through 7 games. He has also recorded 15 passing touchdowns with only 1 interception. Wilson has added 178 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground, as well. He gets a plus matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, who rank 28th in the NFL in passing yards (274) allowed per game. They have also given up 17 touchdowns through the air, while recording only 2 interceptions. Wilson has found significantly more success in more difficult matchups this season, and he makes one of the safest quarterback options on this slate

Tyler Lockett hasn’t seen a ton of volume in 2019, but he has been the top receiving option for the Seattle Seahawks. Through 7 games, he has posted 40 receptions for 515 yards and 4 touchdowns on 48 targets. Lockett has also seen 546 air yards and an 11.4 aDOT this season. Most importantly, he leads Seattle with 9 red zone targets, turning those into 6 receptions for 58 yards and 3 touchdowns. Lockett has scored double-digit fantasy points in 6 of his 7 games in 2019, while flashing 35 fantasy point upside.

Atlanta has also struggled against the run, allowing 113.7 rushing yards per game. They have given up eight rushing touchdowns this season, as well. Chris Carson has been a great option for Seattle, averaging 81.3 yards and 0.3 touchdowns on 19.9 carries per game. He has posted 22 receptions for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns on 26 targets through 7 games. Similarly to Lockett, he has scored double-digit fantasy points in 6 of his 7 starts this season, including multiple games with 20+ fantasy points. This trio guarantees the Seattle touchdowns this week, and they should be able to score plenty with a 28.8 point implied team total.

Houston Texans

Deshaun Watson/DeAndre Hopkins/Kenny Stills

Deshaun Watson has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL through seven games. He gets an elite matchup against the Oakland Raiders, who are giving up the second most passing yards (289.8) per game this season. Oakland has allowed 16 passing touchdowns to go along with only 3 interceptions in 2019, as well. Watson has struggled mightily in two games, but is still averaging 278.9 passing yards per game. He boasts 13 passing touchdowns with 5 interceptions through 7 games, as well. Watson has also added 196 yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground. He’s one of the safest quarterbacks in the NFL, while possessing slate-breaking upside.

DeAndre Hopkins has struggled at times this season, but he still has recorded 49 receptions for 508 yards and 3 touchdowns. Most importantly, he ranks fifth in the NFL in targets (68) and fourth in air yards (732). He has recorded a 10.8 aDOT, as well. Hopkins has turned a team-high 7 red zone targets into 5 receptions, 29 yards, and 3 touchdowns. He could also see an uptick in opportunities with Will Fuller out multiple weeks due to injury.

Kenny Stills is also expected to see a larger role with Fuller out. In limited action, he has posted 15 receptions for 293 yards and 1 touchdown on only 19 targets. He’s coming off of his best game of the season, though, recording 4 receptions for 105 yards on 5 targets. Stills also boasts a 13.2 aDOT, and he comes with tremendous upside in what should be an extended role. He has yet to see a red zone target for Houston, but he’s a deep threat. He adds quite a bit of upside to Watson and Hopkins, who will make a safer options on this slate.

Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan/Julio Jones/Calvin Ridley

Matt Ryan is currently questionable with an ankle injury, but it seems as if he’s expected to play this weekend. If that’s the case, Atlanta makes an elite stacking option. Ryan is coming off of his worst game of the season, but he’s still averaging 310 passing yards per game. Ryan has thrown for 15 touchdowns with 8 interceptions, as well. He has also thrown for 300+ yards in his first 6 games of the season. Ryan gets a matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, who are allowing 249 passing yards per game in 2019. They have only given up eight passing touchdowns, while recording six interceptions. Still, Ryan should be able to get back on track in a solid matchup this week.

Julio Jones continues to have a “down” season, but he owns 40 receptions for 560 yards and 4 touchdowns on 62 targets in 2019. He ranks third in the NFL in air yards (810), while boasting a 13.1 aDOT. Surprisingly, Jones ranks second on the Atlanta Falcons in red zone targets (5). He has turned those into 4 receptions for 20 yards and 3 touchdowns. He comes with elite upside, and is the most obvious stacking option with Ryan.

Calvin Ridley is expected to see a larger role in the offense with Mohamed Sanu now in New England. According to Ian Hartitz, Ridley is averaging a healthy 6.8 receptions for 100.6 yards and 1.4 touchdowns per game in contests that he has seen 8+ targets. On the season, he has recorded 29 receptions for 373 yards and 4 touchdowns on 44 targets. Ridley has posted 593 air yards with a 13.5 aDOT this season, as well. This could be a breakout performance for him, as he’ll see a larger workload in this contest.
