Important Notes
The most important note for StatHero is their scoring system. It’s different from what you’re likely used to, and we need to note what the most important aspects are. Quarterbacks are far and away the most important position, specifically passing yards. They get 0.05 fantasy points for every 1 passing yard compared to only 0.1 fantasy points per 1 rushing or receiving yard. For instance, a quarterback would receive 15 fantasy points for 300 yards passing. He would need 3.75 passing touchdowns to reach that. Running backs and receivers would need 1,50 yards to hit that number. They would need 2.5 touchdowns to score 15 fantasy points.
Tight ends are another major part of their scoring. They will receive 1.5 fantasy points per reception, while running backs and wide receivers only receive 1 fantasy point per reception. With StatHero’s current scoring system, it could be a key to stack a team with a dominant quarterback and tight end pairing to go along with the other options on the offense.
The final scoring that could make or break your lineup is the distance bonus. Quarterbacks receive a slightly smaller bonus for long passing touchdowns, while running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends get a bit more of a bonus for touchdowns. Ultimately, you want touchdowns to come from 10+ yards out, which is the distance the bonus’ start at.
Cleveland Browns
Baker Mayfield/Nick Chubb/Odell Beckham Jr.
Baker Mayfield has struggled a bit throughout the 2019 season. Through 10 games, he’s averaging 239.4 yards and 1.1 touchdowns on 34.1 pass attempts per game. He has added 77 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. Mayfield gets a great matchup against the Miami Dolphins, who are allowing 246.0 passing yards per game this season. They have also given up 23 passing touchdowns, while recording only 6 interceptions. The Cleveland Browns are -11 point favorites in a game set at 44.5 points, giving them the highest implied team total on this slate at 27.8 points.
Nick Chubb has found plenty of success this season. He’s averaging 101.1 yards and 0.6 touchdowns on 20.1 carries per game. Chubb owns 27 receptions for 166 yards on 37 targets in 2019, as well. He has seen 20+ carries in each of his last 5 games, and that should be the case again this weekend. Chubb gets a matchup against Miami, who is allowing 148.3 rushing yards per game in 2019. They have also given up 4.7 yards per carry. Furthermore, Miami has allowed nine rushing touchdowns in 2019. Kareem Hunt will continue to have a role, and makes a solid option this weekend, but Chubb is still the clear-cut leader of Cleveland’s backfield.
Similarly to Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr. has been a disappointment this season. He has posted 48 receptions for 692 yards and 1 touchdown on 89 targets. Beckham has seen 1,064 air yards to go along with a 12 aDOT this season. He has also seen 22 targets over his last 2 games. Beckham has only recorded six red zone targets in 2019. He has struggled with those, posting only one reception for seven yards without finding the end zone. It’s clear that Cleveland is trying to get him more involved in the offense, and he should be able to take advantage of the matchup this week.
Atlanta Falcons
Matt Ryan/Julio Jones/Calvin Ridley
Matt Ryan continues to enjoy an outstanding fantasy season in 2019. He’s averaging 295.9 yards and 2.0 touchdowns on 39.0 pass attempts per game. Ryan has thrown for 300+ yards in 7 of his 9 games this season. He gets a great matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week. They currently rank 31st in the NFL in passing yards (290.9) allowed per game. Tampa Bay has allowed 25 passing touchdowns, while recording only 6 interceptions in 2019. The Atlanta Falcons are -4 point favorites in a game set at 51 points, and they feature an implied team total of 27.5 points this weekend.
Julio Jones has found solid success this season. He enters this game with 59 receptions for 882 yards and 4 touchdowns on 91 targets. Jones comes with plenty of upside, though, as he ranks third in the NFL in air yards (1,189). He also boasts a 13.1 aDOT. Jones has seen 8 red zone targets, as well, turning those into 6 receptions for 32 yards and 3 touchdowns. He could be more involved in the red zone offense with Austin Hooper unlikely to suit up, as well.
Calvin Ridley has seen mixed results throughout his sophomore campaign. He has posted 44 receptions for 614 yards and 5 touchdowns on 64 targets. Ridley is averaging nearly three times as many fantasy points per game when he scores a touchdown. He boasts 880 air yards with a 13.8 aDOT in 2019. Surprisingly, Ridley has only seen four red zone targets this season. He owns 3 receptions for 31 yards and 2 touchdowns on those targets. Ridley isn’t the safest option on the slate, but he comes with elite upside in this matchup.
Philadelphia Eagles
Carson Wentz/Alshon Jeffery/Zach Ertz
Carson Wentz has been struggling quite a bit recently. Still, he’s averaging 227.4 yards and 1.6 touchdowns on 34.3 pass attempts per game. He has added 161 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground, as well. Wentz gets a great matchup against the Seattle Seahawks this week. They are allowing 271.8 passing yards per game in 2019. They have only allowed 12 passing touchdowns to go along with 8 interceptions, though. Still, the Philadelphia Eagles are -2 point favorites in a game set at 48 points, and they possess an implied team total of 25 points this week.
Alshon Jeffery is questionable this weekend. If he’s able to suit up, he makes an outstanding option. Through 8 games, he has recorded 34 receptions for 353 yards and 4 touchdowns. Jeffery has only seen 501 air yards with a 9.1 aDOT this season, though. He’s a solid part of their red zone offense. He has seen 7 red zone targets, turning those into 4 receptions for 27 yards and 3 touchdowns. If Jeffery is ruled out this week, Nelson Agholor can be used in his place.
Zach Ertz has seen multiple roles in the Philadelphia offense this season. Overall, he owns 55 receptions for 621 yards and 2 touchdowns on 86 targets. He has seen 22 targets over the last 2 weeks, though, posting 18 receptions for 197 yards and 1 touchdown. Ertz ranks second in the NFL in air yards (754) for tight ends, while posting an 8.8 aDOT. He has seen a team-high 9 red zone targets, although he only owns 3 receptions for 23 yards and 1 touchdown in those games. Ertz gets the 1.5 FP PPR bonus for being a tight end, and he’s an elite option on this slate.
