Important Notes

The most important note for StatHero is their scoring system. It’s different from what you’re likely used to, and we need to note what the most important aspects are. Quarterbacks are far and away the most important position, specifically passing yards. They get 0.05 fantasy points for every 1 passing yard compared to only 0.1 fantasy points per 1 rushing or receiving yard. For instance, a quarterback would receive 15 fantasy points for 300 yards passing. He would need 3.75 passing touchdowns to reach that. Running backs and receivers would need 1,50 yards to hit that number. They would need 2.5 touchdowns to score 15 fantasy points.

Tight ends are another major part of their scoring. They will receive 1.5 fantasy points per reception, while running backs and wide receivers only receive 1 fantasy point per reception. With StatHero’s current scoring system, it could be a key to stack a team with a dominant quarterback and tight end pairing to go along with the other options on the offense.

The final scoring that could make or break your lineup is the distance bonus. Quarterbacks receive a slightly smaller bonus for long passing touchdowns, while running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends get a bit more of a bonus for touchdowns. Ultimately, you want touchdowns to come from 10+ yards out, which is the distance the bonus’ start at.

New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees/Alvin Kamara/Michael Thomas

Drew Brees has only played in two full games this season. In those games, he’s averaging 371.5 yards and 2.5 touchdowns on 43 pass attempts per game. He has scored 25+ fantasy points in each of those games, as well. Brees gets an elite matchup against the Atlanta Falcons this week. They have given up 261.1 passing yards per game. Atlanta has also allowed 19 passing touchdowns this season, while recording only 2 interceptions. The Saints are -13 point favorites in a game set at 51 points, and they feature the highest implied team total on the slate at 32 points.

Alvin Kamara is questionable with a pair of injuries. He is averaging 62.2 yards and 0.2 touchdowns on 14.3 carries per game through 6 games. Kamara is also averaging 5.5 receptions for 46 yards and 0.2 touchdowns on 6.5 targets per game this season. He hasn’t been the elite option that many were expecting, but he has flashed near 40 fantasy point upside earlier in the year. Atlanta has struggled defending the run, as well. They’re allowing 118.4 rushing yards per game in 2019. The Falcons have also given up nine rushing touchdowns this season. If Kamara is ruled out, Latavius Murray can slide into this stack.

Michael Thomas has been enjoying an elite season once again. Through 8 games, he owns 73 receptions for 875 yards and 4 touchdowns on 89 targets. He has recorded 15+ fantasy points in each of his 8 games this season, while flashing 45 fantasy point upside. Thomas only owns 694 air yards with a 7.8 aDOT this season. That has kept his efficiency high, adding to his value in a PPR format. Thomas has been a focal point in the red zone. He boasts 11 red zone targets, turning those into 7 receptions for 57 yards and 4 touchdowns. Thomas is as safe of an option as there is in the NFL, but he also possesses elite upside.

Baltimore Ravens

LamarJackson/Mark Ingram/Mark Andrews

Lamar Jackson has been arguably the best fantasy quarterback in the NFL this season. He’s averaging 226.6 yards and 1.5 touchdowns on 29.8 pass attempts per game. Jackson has added 637 yards and 5 touchdowns on 99 carries, as well. He gets a matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, who rank 22nd in the NFL in passing yards (258.1) allowed per game. The Bengals have given up 11 passing touchdowns, while recording 2 interceptions. The Ravens are -10 point favorites in a game set at 45.5 points, giving them an implied team total of 27.8 points this weekend.

Mark Ingram has been Baltimore’s top running back in 2019. He’s averaging 73.1 yards and 0.9 touchdowns on 14.3 carries per game through 8 games. Ingram has added 14 receptions for 125 yards on 15 targets this season. Cincinnati has struggled against the run in 2019, allowing a league-high 177.6 rushing yards per game. They are also giving up 5.1 yards per carry this season. Furthermore, the Bengals have allowed 10 rushing touchdowns in 2019. As an added bonus, Cincinnati has struggled to defend running quarterbacks, adding value to Jackson.

Mark Andrews has looked outstanding through 8 games this season, although he has also dealt with injuries. He owns 38 receptions for 470 yards and 3 touchdowns on 58 targets. Andrews has recorded a 10 aDOT to go along with 580 air yards this season. He possesses a team-high 7 red zone targets, turning those into 2 receptions for 11 yards and 2 touchdowns. Andrews gets an added bonus (1.5 PPR FP) because he’s a tight end, and he adds a bit of upside to this stack.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jameis Winston/Mike Evans/Chris Godwin

Jameis Winston continues to produce in terms of fantasy. Through 8 games, he’s averaging 300.9 yards and 2.0 touchdowns on 38.4 pass attempts per game. He has added 99 yards on the ground, but has yet to score with his feet. Winston has also scored 20+ fantasy points in 5 of his last 6 games. He gets a great matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, who are allowing 280.7 passing yards per game this season. Arizona has also given up a league-high 24 passing touchdowns to go along with only 2 interceptions. The Bucs are -4.5 point favorites in a game set at 51 points, and they own an implied team total of 27.8 points.

Mike Evans has been enjoying an outstanding season, posting 50 receptions for 842 yards and 7 touchdowns. He has flashed 50 fantasy point upside, although he did fail to score against the New Orleans Saints. Evans boasts an elite 15.8 aDOT to go along with 1,311 air yards. He has recorded a team-high 14 red zone targets, posting 7 receptions for 50 yards and 4 touchdowns. Since being shut out by New Orleans, Evans is averaging 10.7 receptions for 158 yards and 1 touchdown on 15 targets per game.

Chris Godwin is another receiver that has looked great throughout the 2019 season. He has recorded 54 receptions for 766 yards and 6 touchdowns on 72 targets. He has seen 749 air yards with a 10.4 aDOT this season. Godwin has also seen 7 red zone targets this season, posting 5 receptions for 43 yards and 3 touchdowns on those targets. Godwin and Evans have seen the majority of the targets for Tampa Bay in 2019, and they are the top options in this offense.
