More or Less 2/2 – Minnesota Vikings/New Orleans Saints
Alvin Kamara has seen plenty of ups and downs throughout the 2019 season. Through 14 games, he’s averaging 38.1 receiving yards per game. He has also recorded 30 or fewer receiving yards in each of his last 5 games. Over that span, Kamara is averaging only 5.8 targets per game. While he does boast plenty of receiving upside, he averaged more than 6.0 yards per reception in only one of those five games. Kamara gets a tough matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, who have allowed only 4.9 receptions per game to running backs. They are also allowing only 36.6 receiving yards per game to opposing backs this season. The New Orleans Saints are -8 point favorites in this game, suggesting they could run out the clock late in the game, limiting Kamara’s opportunities.
Kyle Rudolph simply isn’t a large part of the Minnesota offense. He has seen only seven targets over his last four games, although he only played on snap last week. On the season, he’s averaging only 3.0 targets per game, while averaging only 2.4 receptions per game. New Orleans ranks 13th in the NFL in receptions allowed (72) to opposing tight ends this season. Rudolph hasn’t played more than 70% of the offensive snaps since Week 13. He’s likely to continue to see a limited role, and he is likely to see limited targets against a tough defense. Rudolph will need an efficient game to find the over, but that isn’t likely in this matchup.
