Jimmy Garoppolo has been winning in 2019, but he hasn’t been needed much. Through 7 games, he’s averaging only 212.7 passing yards per game. He has recorded over 250 passing yards in only 2 of his 7 games thus far. Garoppolo gets a plus matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, who are allowing 277 passing yards per game. With that being said, the San Francisco 49ers are -10 point favorites in this game. They could potentially get out to an early lead, and rely heavily on the run. If that’s the case, Garoppolo will see limited opportunities, making the under significantly more likely.
Kyler Murray has shown flashes this season, but he has thrown for only 324 yards over his last 2 games. He gets a terrible matchup against San Francisco, who is allowing a league-low 128.7 passing yards per game. Chase Edmonds and David Johnson have been big parts of the passing attack out of the backfield, and Arizona may be without each of those backs. Without the easy yards to fall back on, Murray could continue his struggles against arguably the best pass defense in the NFL.
