Touchdown Dance – Tampa Bay Bucs/Carolina Panthers
This game is set at 49.5 points, essentially projecting 7 touchdowns. The Carolina Panthers are also -7 point favorites in this game. Christian McCaffrey recorded two touchdowns during a Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Most importantly, those touchdowns were from the seven- and two-yard line. The only true concern is that Alex Armah recorded a touchdown from the one. Still, McCaffrey looks poised to be featured on the goal line after recording 13 total touchdowns last season. Overall, he saw 29 touches in Week 1, and could see a similar workload in this game. While it’s difficult to refer to McCaffrey as a “lock,” it would be surprising to see Carolina hit their team total without him finding the end zone at least once. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off of a terrible game in what should’ve been a plus matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. With that being said, there’s no reason to write off their offense this early in the season. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin only combined for 11 targets in Week 1, and that number should increase with the game plan this week. Godwin found the end zone with those targets, though, which he also did seven times in 2018. Evans, on the other hand, saw a larger role than Godwin last season, and posted eight touchdowns. Jameis Winston will likely have plenty of multi-touchdowns games throughout the season, and Evans, Godwin, and O.J. Howard are likely to be the red zone options. I’m siding with potential volume in this play, leaving Howard out. If this game turns into somewhat of a shootout, McCaffrey, Evans, and Godwin are all likely to be featured, and they each come with two touchdown potential. If you’re looking for a bit more ROI, over 2.5 total touchdowns nets 4x, but I’m playing it a bit safer this week.
Play 1 unit on Christian McCaffrey, Mike Evans, and Chris Godwin OVER 1.5 touchdowns to win 1.5 units (1.5x)
