Over Under 2/2 – Tampa Bay Buccaneer/Detroit Lions
Mike Evans has been ruled out, leaving Breshad Perriman to take over his role. The latter has yet to see full snaps in this role, but he has posted 70 and 87 yards in his last 2 games. Perriman has also seen 607 air yards on only 43 targets in 2019, giving him a 14.1 aDOT. On the season, Mike Evans leads the NFL in air yards (1,814), while posting a 15.4 aDOT. If Perriman shifts into his role, he’ll see plenty of opportunities throughout this game. He gets a plus matchup against the Detroit Lions, who have featured one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. While Perriman’s talent level isn’t near Evans, this total is absurdly low for his potential in this role.
Chris Lacy is a bit riskier than Perriman in this play. He’s expected to take over for Marvin Jones, who was recently placed on the IR. Jones averaged a healthy 7.0 targets per game this season, posting 3+ receptions in 12 of his 13 games. Lacy isn’t near Jones’ talent, but this is an opportunity over talent play. The Lions have thrown the ball 78 times in David Blough’s 2 starts, and I’m expecting similar numbers this week. Lacy gets a plus matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and this game could quickly turn into a shootout. Lacy may only need five or so targets to hit the over, and he has the potential to see significantly more than that.
Play 1 unit on Breshad Perriman OVER 43.5 receiving yards and Chris Lacy OVER 2.5 receptions to win 3 units (3x)
