More or Less 2/2 – San Francisco 49ers/Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes comes with an absurdly high total in this game. On the season, he’s averaging 290.4 passing yards on 34.6 pass attempts per game. He threw for 310+ yards in each of his first 5 games in 2019. He then threw for 310+ yards in only 3 of his next 10 games (excluding his game against the Denver Broncos). Mahomes gets a terrible matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. They allowed a league-low 169.2 passing yards per game in 2019. Mahomes is a player that can find success against any team in the NFL, but this total is set a bit high for his recent production and matchup this weekend.
Jimmy Garoppolo has seen plenty of ups and downs in 2019. He’s averaging 232.6 passing yards on only 27.9 pass attempts per game this season. He has thrown for only 208 yards on 27 pass attempts in the playoffs. With that being said, Garoppolo wasn’t needed in those games. He averaged 270.5 passing yards per game in the final 4 games of the regular season. Garoppolo gets a matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, who allowed 221.4 passing yards per game in 2019. San Francisco will need to lean on Garoppolo to stay in this game, though. I don’t expect him to throw for 300+ yards this Sunday, but throwing for 238+ yards is the most likely scenario.
